Pastor Marvin Winans -- the guy who M.C.'d Whitney Houston's funeral service -- was carjacked at a Detroit gas station earlier today.

According to WXYZ, Winans was pumping gas when some scumbag roughed him up and stole the 54-year-old's Infiniti QX56 SUV. The pastor told a WXYZ reporter he had a feeling this was "not a good situation" when he first saw the group of  guys who eventually jumped him.

Winans -- whose family is legendary in the gospel music world -- was not seriously injured, but his son, Marvin Winans Jr., tells TMZ his dad has checked into a hospital to get treatment.

According to police, 4 suspects jacked an undisclosed amount of cash from Winans, and got away in the SUV. They describe three of the suspects as Black males.

Marvin gave the eulogy at Whitney's funeral in New Jersey back in February -- and thanked Whitney's mom for bringing "the world" to church.

What a world we live in when people "Laugh Out Loud" when another person is a crime victim. Wow. Sad.

From what I read elsewhere, it looks like he may have been targeted because of some type of investment scheme some of the Winans were involved with. Apparently they're hated in Detroit.

Am I the only one wondering why a supposed man of the cloth, servant of God, humble preacher is driving around in an Infiniti QX56. An SUV that starts at 62K and with a few options hits 73K.

LOL -- A real modest man of God -- driving around in a QX 56. And dumb enough to do it in Detroit? LOL Got what he deserved I'd say. I bet a dollar the thugs were wearing hoodies and eatin skittles too! LOL

TMZ first of all he was not Whitney Houston's pastor, he was her good friend and he did not MC the funeral, he gave the sermon/eulogy. You are slipping TMZ. Too busy trying to get those Kardashian's stories.

"M.C'd the funeral" is the right way to phrase it - it was a big production. And why did he have to check into a hospital? Nothing indicated he was hurt; he is just into putting on a big show, apparently.

How long before Al Sharpton gathers his posse, the new black panthers, to go after the white kid but will ignore the other three? How much will HIS bounty be?

For the moron that dont know, Pastor Winans does not need the church to buy a lexus. He made his millions with the Winans singing group. and The article didnt say anything that the person that did this was black there are white criminals in Detroit.

This is obviously a setup for Whitney's kid's reality show. They have the footage... and of course they are blaming "3 black males" when one of them could have easily been of mixed race or a female who wasn't wearing makeup or heels. Truth please!
