it`s illegal, any more than three in a row is illegal in all 50 as carryon.you go goldplate a gun and wear it on your finger also but that illegal also. There are ways it could be made legal but anything solid with more than three finger holes is a weapon no matter who made it or what it`s made of.Check yourt zaps&zips also.

Funny how so many people commenting today didn't read the first article TMZ posted the other day with the details. This isn't racist one single bit. 2 Chainz wasn't wearing his rings/brass knuckles at or on the plane. Security discovered it in his luggage therefore not knowing what color the owners skin was !!!! TSA goes through everyone's luggage.

Also, from the photo, 2 Chainz does not wear the thing in a finger position on his fingers, nor does he wear them across his knuckles. If 2 Chainz calls in a ring, he could still do serious damage to someone's face the same as brass knuckles could. So he basically is killing 2 birds with 1 stone. The judge will decide.

You people are idiots. Its a ring. They sale these rings at ALDOs shoes in the mall as accessories. I know because I bought my daughter one that says LOVE. Sometimes culture conflicts with the police state that we live in.

Scissors are not weapons either, but you cannot bring them onto an airplane. It seems a bit extreme that he would arrested for possessing these (maybe there is more to the story than he simply possessed them), but TMZ are not exactly known for their sound decision making. Just because something is popular in a particular culture, does not mean it is legal. Weed is popular in rap culture too, but that doesn't mean a rapper wouldn't be arrested for trying to bring it onto an airplane. This is not an example of racism or racial profiling or anything like that, but some of you profile TSA by calling them racist based on this incident.

The people that keep remarking that this is a ring as though that's some sort of smoking gun evidence of racism really don't understand the issue. It's frustrating. You're all buying in to the activist mentallity and not really thinking realistically.
Nobody is argueing that this isn't jewelry or that it isn't "fashionable". Please try to understand the actual issue!
It is a set of oversized rings designed in such a way that it can be deemed a weapon and therefore has been deemed something you cannot take on a plane. TSA doesn't care about fashion trends nor do they care if the owner is black!

Here's an excerpt of an article with interviews from both the ring maker (white guy) and 2chainz

2chainz
"Once they took him to jail, the officers began to understand that they were dealing with a rap star. “Me just trying to explain my occupation and then when they finally got to the jail and everybody knew who I was, then they started calling their kids and putting me on the phone with their kids. It was like a weird experience,” the Atlanta native continued, adding that he spent up to nine hours locked up before he was let go and hopped on a plane to make a scheduled performance in North Carolina.

The ring in question is a four-finger ring that reads “Dope,” with one letter appearing on each finger. The piece is made by street wear brand Dope Couture, and XXLMag.com caught up with the owner to help better understand the ring and the incident.

(white guy)
“The ring is not brass knuckles, but it’s up to interpretation,” says Matte Fields, who founded Dope Couture in 2007, and was once arrested himself at LAX for carrying the same ring that got 2 Chainz in trouble. “If the cops wanna call it brass knuckles, they can. And at TSA, when you’re going through the airport and everything is on high alert anyways, they will call it brass knuckles just on principle, to make examples out of people. They made an example out of me, they made an example out of 2 Chainz. I got caught with the four finger at LAX and it was a felony.”"

Is 2chainz claiming he was racially profiled or that he got preferential treatment? I'm a little confused! It all seems to boil down to race though regardless of the details. First his luggage is being racially profiled, then he's being arrested because of his race, then he's being treated like a celebrity because of his race. Just give it up! He was arrested like any white guy would have been with the same "ring".
The fact that this is setting off a huge racial controversy shows that there is indeed racial inequality. It's PREFERENCIAL treatment of blacks over whites!

Absolutely unbelievable ! ! ! The subject of the brass knuckles. It was a topic for A DISCUSSION !!! As people were giving their thoughts and opinions on the subject...this ignorant individual is talking over them, trying to prevent them from speaking ! Immediately, she starts referring to everyone as HATERS ! ...RACISTS! This individual is extremely offensive and careless in her behavior, and has absolutely NO understanding of civil discourse, and has absolutely NO RESPECT for her peers, and what it means to politely disagree. What is most offensive is that Harvey allowed it to continue. Ignorant, uneducated people bring down EVERYONE around them as this clearly shows. Harvey should fire her and the person that hired her...she's an embarrassment. But I think Harvey is stuck with her....she holds that race card very very tightly. Try someone with at least some sophistication on your next hire...low rent never works.
