Britney vs. JLo

It's All About the Moolah

5/29/2012 5:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0528_jlo_birntey_ai_xfactorJennifer Lopez helped Britney Spears secure a $15 million paycheck for "X Factor" -- because Britney had one intractable demand ... she had to make more than J Lo did for her first season on "American Idol."

JLo raked in $12 mil for her first season on "American Idol." There are reports she made $20 mil for the season that just ended, but we hear it's less than that.

Sources very familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Britney's bottom line was no less than $13 mil. But sources connected with "X Factor" tell us Britney initially asked for a lot more -- $20 mil.

As we first reported, Britney and "X Factor" eventually settled on $15 mil for the season.

The wild card now is JLo. It's unclear if "American Idol" will pay her what she's been making because ratings are down and if she can't pull in at least what Britney is getting, ego could make it a no go.

Stay tuned.

I guess this means we should get ready for major drama on AI. Bet on it to get the ratings up.

It's a waste of money either way! Idol is flailing in the ratings (and so it should, after 11 years), and X Facor is NOT picking up the viewers Idol is losing.

That's a lot of money, for a piece of trailer trash.

Both are highly overpaid, considering both have equal lack of talent. I couldn't do any better, but at least I admit it...

Before jumping on American Idol, we only cared about J-Lo Drama and didn’t care about the tired reality show with Marc. j Lo was really off the main stream radar as Britney is now. Trust me by the time the show airs on TV, Britney will have a new album, fresh new fashion line, a few endorsements and another tour that will start at the Conclusion of the show.

Britney is the bigger star. JLo forgets that before American Idol revitalized her career, she was Paula Abdul 2.0. JLo wouldn't have all these new touring dates and product contracts etc. without American Idol and they will quickly evaporate when she leaves.

Jennifer's voice is irritating and watching her try and judge talent when she is not one, was painful.

She has to cake on makeup so thick to hide her old woman wrinkles that it looks like her face is about to crack.

Her and her midget under-aged boyfriend should do us all a favor and simply disappear.

I refuse to watch either show BECAUSE of these 2 diva heffers, along with any other crap show Simon Cowell produces. His outgrown crew cut and moobs are enough to make me projectile vomit.

I have never really cared for J-Lo at all... I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I just don't like her....

Britney and the X-Factor are going to bomb this season, no matter how much they pay her. When it bombs, Simon will look even more foolish for paying so much for a dud. The show isn't that good, no matter who the judges are. And Idol has run its course--they should do one more year, and then let it go before it tanks completely.

With the exposure they get from being on the show I wouldn't pay more than 7 million for ANYMONE!! These ladies are getting a heck of a deal and are just playing the game to get even more hype!!
