The Jacksons Unity Tour

New Album Is the Cause

of Concert Cancellations

EXCLUSIVE

The Jacksons don't want to put the cart before the horse, so the group has cancelled their first two concerts because they've been busy recording their new album ... TMZ has learned.

The group announced this week they are canceling shows in Louisville and Cincinnati, which a rep for the band chalked up to "scheduling conflicts."

But a source close to the Jacksons tells TMZ the brothers (Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito) want to finish their studio album before they hit the road so they can perform the new tracks on tour.

We're told the Jacksons want to make up the missed dates, but nothing is planned so far.

The tour is scheduled to (probably) kick off on June 20 in Rama, ON, Canada.

..Paris Jackson Discusses Her Childhood With Oprah Winfrey
..By Wendy Geller

....
EmailPrint.....It has been almost 3 years since Michael Jackson left us at the age of 50. However, intense interest remains about his life, work, and family--especially his three children. Oprah Winfrey recently visited Jackson's 14-year-old daughter, Paris, for an interview that revealed some details about life with a world-famous parent.

Paris Jackson and Oprah Winfrey
One of the most-discussed Jackson oddities was his habit of covering his children's faces in public. Paris Jackson explained to Winfrey that he was doing it to protect their identity in hopes people wouldn't recognize them when they weren't with their father.

"I was really confused," Paris told Winfrey, confirming that her face was only covered when she was with her dad, not at any other time. "I didn't get why I was wearing a mask, but I understand it now...why my dad would want our faces to be covered. When we went out without him, we wouldn't be recognized and could have a normal childhood."

When asked if she thought her father really wanted her to have a normal childhood, Paris answered yes.

"He had his doubts," she added. "He told us when he was younger, he didn't really have a childhood. He would always be stuck in the studio singing, while other kids were out playing."

Paris noted that Jackson let his kids go to normal places in hopes they'd have a regular life. "Chuck E. Cheese and Toys R Us were our favorite places to go," she told Winfrey.

Oprah's Next Chapter featuring the full interview with Paris Jackson will air June 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.

Reports of child abuse expected to rise in Calgary
Share24

Calgary's police chief warns that the number of reported child abuse cases in the city is about to skyrocket over the next couple of years.

Rick Hanson told a city council committee Wednesday morning the spike will come with the opening of the Calgary Child Advocacy Centre this fall.

The centre is a partnership which brings together all services required by the victims of child abuse — from police to prosecutors to Alberta Health Services to Child and Family Services.

“When the doors of the Child Advocacy Centre open, you will find that Calgary — based on StatsCan data — will have the highest levels of child abuse in this country,” he said. “But that's not because more of it's happening here. It's because, finally, the victims of this crime will have a place to go where they will feel comfortable and supported in reporting that crime.”

Hanson says victims of child abuse often don't report the crime because they don't feel supported or that their word will be taken seriously.

“We make it more comfortable for victims to come forward when they know that the system is gonna be there to work for them, there's gonna be more people coming forward, more young people, more kids that are gonna say 'This is happening to me and I need help.'"

Ald. John Mar says big swings in crime stats do catch people's attention so it's good that the chief has flagged what will likely happen.

“This child advocacy is all about bringing this issue to light and being able to address this where it lives,” he said.

Man you lame ass people need to stop the hate, If you don't want to spend your money fine, get lost why don't cha. This is only one example of why we have so many problems in our country is HATE . Get over it The man was aquitted on 13 freaking charges, move the hell on with your life and leave other people alone who may want to try something new. If it dose not work out no skin off of your ass. These guys were musicians & songwriters long before some of you knew anything about them, so I say leave them be they are not hurting you or anyone else. Buy the way I bet if these were your family members I like to see & hear just how you would fare. Buy the way none of the other brothers have never been arrested to this point, like some of your rockin rollers & rappers, who you guys spend alot of money on. Did you know a few years back that Pete Townsend was arrested for having child porn on his home computer? Did you know that JerryLee Lewis married his 16 year old cousin? You people need to stop spending so much of your time Hateting on others who have done nothing to you. Look at yourself real good in the mirror next time before you start cowardly bulling people aroond. Stay positive. Peace EC
