Mel Gibson

Dad Files For Divorce

6/4/2012 4:17 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Hutton Gibson cited irreconcilable differences from Teddy Joye Gibson
Mel Gibson's dad has just filed for divorce ... TMZ has learned.

93-year-old Hutton Gibson cited irreconcilable differences from Teddy Joye Gibson, who is in her 70's.

Hutton -- interestingly -- is asking for spousal support.   He also wants her to pay attorney's fees.

Hutton had no kids with Teddy, but had 11 kids with his first wife, Anne, and more than 50 grandchildren.

Also interesting ... Hutton is a devout Catholic and his religion does not believe in divorce.

The couple married in 2002.

I think they should send the nazi kraut bastard to a concentration camp, you know, the ones that didn't exist. Tell that to my father, a liberator of the camps in ww2. I only hope he gets taken to the cleaners in the divorce and dies a broke old nazi, s***bag kraut. Can't blame his wife for wanting out, the old man is just like that lump of flesh mel!

Actually, Catholics can divorce. They are just not supposed to remarry. When you're not a strict Catholic, you don't pay attention anyway, but Hutton who is strict may in fact divorce without going against his believes.

The Catholic church is not against divorce so much as it is remarriage after a divorce. Hutton divorced her because she was depriving him of his meds to speed up his demise. When it comes down to it, divorce is better than letting someone kill you.
