'Game of Thrones' Producers

Sorry for Putting Dubya's

Head on a Spike

HBO and the honchos behind "Game of Thrones" have issued an official apology for putting George W. Bush's head on a spike in an episode during Season 1.

You may have heard ... producers recently revealed they used a Dubya mask as the base for a prop of a decapitated head ... which actually appeared on the show.

Show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss insisted the move was NOT a political statement ... but an honest mistake.

The two released a joint statement saying, "We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can't afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush."

They continued, "We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise."

HBO also released a statement saying, "We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste."

"We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production."

BULL****! Everyone knows almost all of Hollywood are a bunch of Bush haters! It was done on purpose as an inside dig and they probably thought no one would notice. Shame on them!

They are on a TV show and probably have limited funds. They used what ever they could to make the scene work. I voted for the guy, twice. They probably didn't think anyone would notice and it allowed for more heads in the scene.Sometimes there really is no ill will, just bad judgement.

Well my word. I didn't even notice and I bet a whole lot of other people didn't either. Who would of ever associated GW to Game of Thrones anyway? If everybody would of kept their traps shut, this wouldn't have been an issue. I LOVE GAME OF THRONES!!!!!!

This is disturbing. HBO has a long history of anti-GWB shows/do***entaries/etc. Now, whether HBO knew this was going on is something I don't know. But, the producers of Game of Thrones are just wrong here. For them to lie and essentially say they had no other options? Please. I'd be upset if this was any president, like them or not. It's disrespectful.

How was it a mistake? They said word for word in their DVD commentary "the head on the left is George Bush." They pointed it out! It's not that the head somewhat resembles him...they actually tell you themselves who it is. It doesn't matter if you like him or not. He's a former president & if this had been done to Obama, there would've been a media uproar!

Sorry? No! The bullsh*t of these disgusting cretin executives is palpable! The scene singled-out the "W" head for the world to see, and the scene was LEFT IN the show! "Lefties" are always trying to see how far they can go with the utter disrespect and outright contempt they have for all things conservative! These slimeballs are just in full damage-control mode now. That's all!

I am sure a few of the TMZ staffers want to do that to Harvey for being a bigheaded dick.

Is this a criminal act? Threatening the life of a former president under 18 U.S.C. § 879? Sure sounds like it.
