NY City Council

Push to Change

Bottle Service After Brawl

breaking news

0615_soho_chris_brown_drake_tmzThe NY City Council is calling an emergency meeting with nightclub owners and the NYPD to determine if policies regarding bottle service need to be changed in the wake of the Chris Brown vs. Drake fight.

City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn just released a statement saying, "I am deeply concerned by reports of the bottle throwing melee that injured more than five people in SoHo this week. That is why I have immediately convened an emergency meeting next week between my office, the NYPD, and the nightlife industry."

Quinn adds, "The purpose of this meeting is to send a clear message to all nightclub patrons that bottles cannot be used as weapons and to determine if the guidelines surrounding bottle service need to be updated or reworked.”

Several people were injured in the Brown vs. Drake melee ... including an innocent female bystander who was hit in the head by a flying bottle and needed 16 stitches to close the gap.

All this because some thug does not know how to act in public.

"Cannot" ... well, they obviously can.

'Must not' maybe? 'Should not'? Something along those lines, I'd think. And how do you make drunk people realize that they should not do something? Either incredibly disproportionate penalties or remove the option entirely.

99% of hip hop stars are thugs and animals that dont know how to act in public... what do you expect is going to happen when you allow them in any club that caters to them... Do a search on bar brawls and fights and see how many happened at clubs that cater to that type of crowd....

What's funny is how they bent over backwards to close down every rock club in the NYC only to open more clubs that cater to the hip-hop "culture". There's no law you can pass that will make these people behave. There's thousands of videos on the internet demonstarting this fact. All these "laws" do is punish the innocent people who are just trying to have a good time.

Quin needs to stay out of the business owners business. This is clearly a police matter and should be left to the SLA and NYPD, on how to proceed. Now, she wants to change Bottle at table laws, whats next hand cuffing the patrons...This B**** has got to go!..New Yorkers remember her at V day...
