Teddy Ruxpin Creator

I've Got a Serious

Beef with 'Ted'

The guy who created Teddy Ruxpin isn't exactly flattered that his creation got a shout-out in Seth MacFarlane's new movie "Ted" ... in fact, he wishes the movie had NEVER been made at all.

You remember Teddy ... that iconic talking stuffed animal from the '80s who preached love, friendship and other things of the heartwarming sort. He was adorable.

So when Teddy's creator Ken Forsse saw the commercials for "Ted" -- a teddy bear who drinks, smokes, fights and tries to bang floozies -- he felt it was an affront to the entire stuffed animal community.

Ken tells TMZ ... he believes a teddy bear is a wholesome kids product which shouldn't be portrayed in a negative light.

"I wish they hadn't done [the film]" ... Ken adds.

The feeling is probably mutual -- 'cause in the movie, Ted lays a beatdown on Mark Wahlberg after the actor says he would've rather had a Teddy Ruxpin doll.

Fightin' words.

What a coincidence - I have a beef with the creator of Teddy Ruxpin for not making his crappy toy compatible with my cassette copy of Metallica's "...And Justice For All".

How can he be that offended about what the bear is doing because I've seen a scary movie with a stuffed teddy bear as the killer. I've also seen many scary movies made with toys killing people. Look at Child's Play, Puppet Master, Dolls, etc....so who really cares. Suck it up.....

Ken Forsse

My name is Ken Forsse and I felt ambushed by a call from Ryan at TMZ. My wife answered the phone and handed it to me after briefly talking to a cold call from Ryan at TMZ. Ryan continued to try to goad me into saying something bad about the movie "TED" which I had not even seen at that time. I'm not sure why he would even call me unless he was trying to make news. I never said I had a "beef" with the TED film, but he kept encouraging me to say something to discredit the movie. I am not the protector of plush toys or wholesomeness. I would never have gone out of my way voluntarily to say something about "TED". The fact is I have no control over what is produced out in the world. It is interesting to see how simple minded some of the responses to the TMZ internet clip were. I have enjoyed some of Mark Walberg's work and thought there were some interesting segments in TED. I think that Ryan should stop making up news.
