Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes

Divorce NOT

Over Scientology

Katie Holmes
may say her decision to divorce Tom Cruise is over Scientology, but it's NOT ... so say sources directly connected to Tom.

Our sources tell us ... they believe Katie and her team are leaking false stories to the media by maintaining she was trying to save Suri from the grips of Scientology, and that's why she left Tom.

As one well-connected Tom source put it, "She [Katie] was totally committed to Scientology. She had enthusiasm for it and would voluntarily and gladly participate in it when Tom was off shooting movies."

The source adds, "This is not a fight over religion. It's being used as a way to hurt Tom."

And on the subject of hurting Tom, as we first reported, sources connected with the actor tell us Katie's people have made it difficult for him to speak with Suri by phone, but he's talked to her every day. He has no immediate plans to see his daughter because he's leaving today or tomorrow to shoot his new movie in the Rockies.

Tom's lawyers have not filed any docs in court -- yet -- to establish his custodial rights. If that happens, we're told they will file in New York, although it's pretty clear they will ask to have the case sent to California.

And, as for what Tom's people say the divorce is really about ... they won't say yet, but tell us it's coming.

If Cruise or the "Church" (gag) says the divorce isn't over Scientology, well, then we know pretty much it's over Scientology. Marc Headley, who wrote a really excellent story of his time in the Sea Org at Gold Base, BLOWN FOR GOOD, sent a copy of his book to Katie's father. I bet he read it.

Yeah "sources connected to Tom" probably include ET, Alf and the little Martian from the Bugs Bunny cartoons.

I don't like Cruise and I don't like scientology but what Cruise is saying makes since. Katie was married to him for years. She knew when she married him he was a Scientologist. She also knew that when she got pregnant. She continued to stay with him till the child was 6 years old. So her grips with scientology just does not make since to me. Yes scientology is an cult and is controlling but still she knew what he was when she married him.

Scientology Leader David Miscavige's Wife Has Been Missing Since 2006

"The New Yorker's Lawrence Wright reported that last year Shelley has been missing since 2006 and "her status is unknown." Just before she went missing, she had supposedly filled several job vacancies without her husband's permission.

If she says it is over Scientology, then it is over Scientology. This is just another attempt by Tom to control his wife, her name, her career, etc. How awful it must be to be married to someone like this.

Another website is reporting Tom is angry because Katie is calling all the shots . Well what do you want Tom, to call the shots yourself, would that make it OK. Also an article I read said the wife of the Scientology head has been "missing" for 5 years. Supposedly she is being kept at a special camp cause I guess she did something the kooky head of the cult didn't like. Some group that is.

“Irreconcilable Differences”

The ever popular reason for divorce....Tom give it up. The damage is out there and is done and trying to spin and do damage control is not working at all. No one believes that BS garbarge that Scientology has absoulty nothing to do with the divorce. Only making it worse.

The more they try and spin and damage control the more is just goes to proove that it really is the bulk of the divorce.

Hey Tom, why don't you try 'recruiting' LindsayLohan, she has 20 years on your daughter and just about the right age. Hey she can be your 4th wife her career tanked as opposed to picking on your 6 year old little girl.

My guides tell me that the only one blind-sided by this split is Cruise. Meaning he was in denial for a very long time. Katie Holmes feels to me as if she is very credible and would never sensationalize anything pertaining to her marriage, religion or child to purposely get headlines or embarrass Tom. She is not about money or sensationalism. She is concerned for her child but she was also unhappy in the marriage and wanted out of it. And, I believe the more Tom tries to rationalize this move by Katie; the more damage he may due to his reputation. He has already displayed unstable behavior in public in the past so I would suggest for him to take some time to sort out his thoughts and not go on the attack. It may well back-fire.

I thought this space cult was supposed to be about making personal choices, that we're kept between the high galactic priest and the penitent here on Teegeeack?

Now they have cult people speaking about how DEVOTED Katie is to this crap? Give me a break. Let's see Tom Cruise perform a time shift. Then we'll start believing in the crazy claptrap of a 2nd rate pulp writer.

If it weren't for Tom, Katie would surely be a marquee A List star. That bing said, she looks to be earning her money the old fashioned way. Good for her

He will hide behind Scientology and Katie married into it. She couldn't be brainwashed and got out and doesn't want her little girl to get brainwashed. Good for Katie. In this occult it's normal to only ask pointed questions to get positive feedback even when the person doesn't believe. I bet Katie was hoping Tom would ease off on Scientology and other dudes.

Is this the cult feeding "bath salts" to face eaters? I wonder. Seems like an alien thing to do. Truly nuts - that seems fit.
