Suri Cruise

Triggered Divorce Settlement

7/10/2012 7:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise went from zero to nuclear war in an instant when she filed divorce papers, but it was little Suri who became the peacemaker ... sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ.

Our sources say ... a week ago Thursday, after Katie filed, the hostility between the two was palpable and Suri became a weapon. Katie wanted to strip Tom of all decision-making power in Suri's life, and Tom responded by unleashing the biggest legal guns around to fight her.

We're told what turned everything around was a series of conversations that Suri would be irreparably damaged by parental warfare. It registered big time with both Tom and Katie, and it allowed their lawyers to strike a deal in what could be record time for this type of divorce.

Fact is ... it generally takes celebs in these high-profile divorces a lot longer to realize how bitterness affects small kids, so credit to both.

I think I figured it out y'all.

You all perceive Tom Cruise as being passionate about his life and about his beliefs and you all want to be passionate about something to. And being passionate about how wrong he is and how wrong Scientology is is what you came up with.

All humans like to be passionate about something, even fanatical about something, whether it is some sport, collecting te cups, meditation, sex, self improvement, improving their backyard, christmas decorations, fishing or whatever.

So basically, this topic gives you all something to be passionate about and really pour your hearts into.

Awesome. Do you have any passions besides posting how bad and wrong TC and COS is though? Please feel free to share :-)

Let me just take the opportunity, just this once, to heap full disgust, revulsion, derision and criticism on the bloated, vacuous, hateful heads of every paid "useful idiot" populating absolutely every single forum on the internet.

Your sad, little attempts to control the narrative and smear the sane people around you are as antiquated, primitive, stupid and ridiculous as you are.

Beats getting a real job, though, doesn't it? You know, the job you could never, ever get in the real world???

What a complete loser. Aren't you humiliated yet, so very vigorously displaying your ignorance, illiteracy, poor mental health and utter lack of humanity?

Really, if you are working for the "church," believe me when I say they are WAY overpaying you. By such a marked contrast, it is easy to see who is getting paid to be a rank a&&hole.

The fact is, just by being here, you make Scientology look exactly like the violent, dangerous cult that it is........AND you make the "White Hats" look even better!!!!

Hey SMOOTHIE, how many hours do you have to work, for the cult, to pay for your next class? When I was going to "The Church" for a short period of time, a few years back, I found it amazing that most of the people there, worked for free.....well not entirely free, they worked many long hours to pay for their "classes".

So, really, you've been here for a while now. How many classes, or better yet, which classes are you working so tirelessly for? I don't know everything about the cult, but I know enough to know you're are CRAZY! And you seem to enjoy stalking me, so I figured I would show you a tiny bit of attention, haha.

Did anyone ever answer if TC has to 'disconnect' from Suri since Katie left COS? I only ask because Nicole's adopted children had to disconnect with her. I am only asking because I do not know alot about COS..but a bit odd that he had custody of his adopted children and not his biological one.

Scientology Leader David Miscavige's Disappeared Wife Shelly: What We Know By Tony Ortega Thu., Jul. 5 2012 at 7:00 AM

One of Scientology's many intriguing mysteries is the disappearance of church leader David Miscavige's wife, Michelle "Shelly" Barnett, who hasn't been seen in public since around 2007.

We've written about Shelly Miscavige in the past, about her strange disappearance, and about the equally mysterious death of her mother, Flo Barnett.

And now that the news media is crazy for any information about Scientology, it's only natural that it would become interested in Shelly. The Business Insider brought up the story on Tuesday, summarizing what Lawrence Wright had said about Shelly in his amazing 2011 profile of Paul Haggis for the New Yorker.

But then there was a piece yesterday by the Daily Mail, which was so filled with errors it was hard to believe. Why does it matter? Well, the Daily Mail has become the most-read news website on the planet, and so a story like that is probably going to metastasize into a hundred little gossip sites, and the mistakes in that piece will soon be repeated all over the place.

As a service, then, we'd like to correct the record that's been so mangled by the Daily Mail, and lay out what we know and don't know about Miscavige's missing wife.

Several websites are pointing out the irony that it was Shelly Miscavige who helped bring together Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. During his marriage to Nicole Kidman, Cruise had been almost entirely out of the church (something that was well covered-up at the time), but the church had maintained tabs on him by spying on the Cruise household with its employees.

Katie Holmes had "the best interest" of her child. Protecting her whatever it takes. She got herself and her daughter away from Cruises control and the Scientology cult.

True she knew about Scientology and converted and studied, but not to the extent to what she knows about them now. Not for my daughter. Whatever ammo Holmes had worked.

Even if they stayed together for the "sake of the child" BS, Cruise would have dumped Holmes right under 10 years to avoid community property, just like he did to Kidman, but the Scientology damage to Suri would have been done.

Control freak Cruise is no longer in control of Katie and his daughter and he's pissed. Holmes got him and scientology by the short hairs with their pants down. Scientology...settle this now.

That's what I've been trying to say today.

To address this sudden firestorm in the press, "they" put out the statement that "All's Well, Kate Got What She Wanted."

For now, at least to the public.

The fact is, The Cult's very MISSION STATEMENT says that The Cult can (I'm paraphrasing, because I can't locate it again!) "deceive, destroy, and more" anyone who is a Suppressive Person (wtf?), meaning they don't agree with Scientology.

Does THAT sound like a healthy, wholesome, HELPFUL organization, the way Cruise keeps parroting? Is THAT why so many people have ESCAPED and are now telling stories of oppression, tyranny, abuse and brainwashing.

Lisa Marie Presley was "blown" last May, and has a lot of negative things to say, one being "unethical."

Except there is little to no publicity about that....... It's interesting the relationship between the Mainstream Mass Mind Control Media and Scientology. There's definitely some covering up and back scratching going on there.

From a mother's point of view, I'd say Kate had better watch that kid like a hawk, or she will end up like Conner and Isabella.

Honestly, the one or two "useful idiots" here (that's what "they" call you behind your backs, BTW!), using your Guerilla Blogging techniques (creating like 10 user names each so it seems like a mob)....

If Scientology is your boss, they should be both mortified, and regretful. Your method is simple hatred and harassment, and your motive is obviously personal gain.

Your bloated, vacuous, hateful head has never been troubled by serious thought, and you couldn't find your a&& with both hands, if Scientology (or the gubment) didn't tell you where to look.

You are nothing but a paid mobster and you don't possess an iota of credibility on this, or any other internet forum.

I've got your "Saul Alinsky" right here, and you are "over."

Either Katie or her lawyers (or both) handled this very smartly. They took the thing that Tom is most passionate about and used it against him. No way the leaders of that church were going to be OK with publicity of Tom's divorce dragging up every bit of negative press they've ever gotten. They've spend too much time and money suppressing these types of things. If Tom had continued in this vein with Katie, the church leaders would have held all the negativity against him. Which would damage Tom's position in the church.

Notice that article about Shelly Miscavige points out that Tom was sort of "out" of The Cult during his marriage to Nicole.

It also points out the intense levels of infiltration employed by The Cult, in planting Cult spies in the Cruise household.

This is a terrifying prospect..... how is Kate going to prevail above that kind of fraud and treachery???

Again, I couldn't understand her getting into this mess in the first place.

Everyone knows The Cult is like The Hotel California. "You can check in any time you like, but you can never leave....."

Suri is an innocent child and I pray that Katie and her team of lawyers do all they can and are successful in the church of scientology away from her. To include her father attempting to instill the church of scientology's cult ways upon his daughter!
