It's "Extreme Makeover: Disgraced University Edition."

The honchos at Penn State just released a statement saying the university plans to renovate the football shower and locker room area where convicted child rapist Jerry Sandusky raped children.

The move comes roughly 14 YEARS after officials like Joe Paterno and Graham Spanier allegedly first found out about Sandusky's crimes ... but decided to do nothing about it, because they're a bunch of scumbags.

No word on when the university will begin the demolition.

TMZ...you're not really being fair. All of the kids who were molested were either black or latino...so you can't really expect Penn State to care. Apparently crimes involving minorities are not important enough. I am sure something would have been done by that McQueery guy had the boy he saw being raped not have been black.

not enough water and bleach in the world to wash away the hurt and pain they caused....

hope the rest of the disgusting officials can be brought out and held responsible for their actions, or more correctly, in-actions.... it really does take a village...

Does the renovation include drenching every inch with bleach? Even so, it will not erase the history.

That third paragraph got some of the best writing I've ever seen on TMZ... completely agree with it.

IN MY OPINION

It was more important to win title than keeping children safe.

Isn't it ironic that Joe seemed healthy and after the cover up was discovered he deteriorated and died. His conscience was not clean.

The saying "a day late and a dollar short" fits very well with this headline.

I'm glad Penn State is finally doing something (anything) to rectify the horrible incidents at their school. It's a start. I wonder if they would be willing to go a couple of step further by setting up scholarships for those abused by Sandusky or even helping to pay for counseling for those young men.

The red headed coach who caught the two in the shower should be brought up on child abuse, he walked away and called his father! A real man would have stepped in and saved the child, instead of wimping out and getting a raise and a promotion for keeping his mouth shut!!!!

They will NEVER be able to do enough to make this better. I live near Philly and people are still wearing their Joe Pa white & blue colored glasses, claiming Joe Pa is still a saint. I say he did as much as he did for the school to ease his guilt. Although this is NOT a Joe Paterno issue, it IS a PSU issue, but people still put Paterno on a pedestal... keep drinking the PSU kool aid!!

Oh wow, completely meaningless in the face of what transcribed. All of the people involved should actually be doing something instead of 'We'll change the area and everyone will forget everything!'

It doesn't matter what they try to renovate, rename or wash clean, the stench of what happened there will remain forever.
