Sylvester Stallone

I'm Grief-Stricken

7/16/2012 5:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sylvester Stallone tells TMZ he is devastated by the death of his son Sage Stallone and wants "the speculation and questionable reporting" to stop.

Stallone -- who gave us this picture of him with Sage taken in 1991 by famed photog Bruce Weber -- says, "When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha."

Sly goes on to say, "This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives," adding, "Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace."

The media's main priority is making Headline News. They will go to ANY extent to accomplish that, whether it's speculation, rumors or lies. Regardless of how he died, he has parents and family that are grieving the loss of their loved one. Leave the speculation and negative comments out of it.

The way I see it, if you do press interviews and send out publicity shots such as the one above, and enjoy having your name talked about when it is all postive, you have to expect people to talk about you when something bad happens also.

Sly is not perfect, he is just another human being. He is capable of neglecting people and doing many things wrong. When there is a suspicious death under questionable cir***stances, people are going to speculate. If he has nothing to hide, what does the even care?

Love means being there for another person and not just idolizing them when they do good or have a good performance. Hollywood is just an illusion, not a way to live your life. You have to be there for and be involved with the people in your life or the closeness is just as fake as another movie.

I think Rocky I was his best movie because he was more of a real down to earth person then. Then the movies he made become more and more Hollywood and over the top fanciful. The world is not a movie script. People talk and you can't expect to just edit that out of existence.

If you want pity, say so, but don't expect people to feel as if they can't talk about what happened. Idolizing someone is not the same thing as loving them. Loving them is showing concern for them and sacrificing yourself for them. It is easy to ignore someone until they put out another good movie performance. I think anyone living under that kind of pressure would feel sick at heart.

I agree, the picture is odd. The boy's fist is clenched.

Well, let's just see if Stallone helps pay TMZs bills. If he does Harvey will have to find something else to write about.

Very very sad and tragic to lose a child. So sorry for Sage and his family.

But I believe addictions are not a disease - they are a choice. Yeah - I know that's not the PC thing to say. A bunch of people will probably 'hate' this post before they do their homework & research this information. Classifying drug, alcohol, porn, food, etc. addiction as a disease is meant to pacifiy the abuser - that its not really their fault. They couldn't help it. By this same reasoning, Jerry Sandusky could say that he has a disease - he's addicted to having sex with little boys. It's the same thing, but people will disagree that he could have a disease only because of the disgusting immoral act of abusing children. A disease couldn't make someone do such horrible things to another person. My alcholic brother-in-law verbally abused and degraded my sister because he chose to.

Some do have addictive personalities or have FASD making them more prone to substance abuse and other addictions but that's not a disease.

People need to stop acting like victims and take responsibility for their own lives. Stop blaming diseases, people, cir***stances, and McDonalds. But please get help when you need it, if not for your sake but your families who love you. My brother-in-law has cirrhosis, HepC and is waiting for a liver transplant. Very very painful for his daughter, my sister and his family to watch.

I agree. They need to show more respect to the dead and his family. The guy just lost his son -- I couldn't imagine losing my child.

As a parent who has also lost a child, I find Mr. Stalone's plea heartbreaking. Now all that remains is to see if TMZ honors his request. My guess...probably not.

I seem to remember when Sly was married to Sasha and Sage was young, there were media reports of trouble between Sly and Sasha because Sly felt she
was spending too much time with Sasha and his problems at the expense of their other son and not spending enough with Sly.

that is a beautiful photo of the two, doesn't matter that it isn't a recent photo. It shows the close bond and the tragedy of a father who will never be able to hold his son that close again.

His plea brought tears to my eyes. Yes Harvey, let's wait for autopsy reports, not speculation.
