footnote: sadly, Hollywood forced Sherman to hide his identity as a loving gay man with a wondeful partner and a supportive family.

Perhaps if O'Bama watched the Jefferson once he might have learned a lesson about capitalism from George Jefferson. I can just see George whining to Weezie about taxes on small businesses and O'Bama! What is wrong wit dat brother! Can't he see we try'n to make a buck down here? We does all the work and he wants it all for doin nothin!

They SURE AS HELL don't make 'em like they used to, THAT's for sure!! Yes, episode here and an episode there MIGHT have some "serious" undertones, whether it be sexual/vulgar/subjective. HOWEVER,...dammn near EVERY "comedy" of this generation consists merely & simply of FILTH!!! BREAKING NEWS HOLLYWOOD: You can STILL get a laugh from the crowd in 2010+ just as you could in the 1970's-80's, and NOT have to utilize FOUL LANGUAGE, SEXUAL UNDERTONES, ETC.!! While the actors from the GREAT shows like Three's Company, The Jeffersons, The Andy Griffith Show, and of course I Love Lucy can NEVER be "duplicated", why is it that they STILL get laughs today, 30, 40, 50,...even SIXTY years later?!?!? Because they were FUNNY yet were/are still "wholesome" enough where in MOST INSTANCES, any/all audience ages can appreciate them!! Half the crap on t.v. today I FORBID my 12 year old to watch, let alone our 8 year old!!!

R.I.P. Mr. Hemsley!! Keep makin' 'em laugh at the Funny Factory in the sky!! You're gone in body, but your spirit will live on for many generations!!

Losing more and more actors/actresses from the days when television was good, not all smut and foul language.
Another very fine actor/comedian that will be truly missed. Rest in peace Sherman.
