'Expendables 2'

Stuntman's Family Sues

Over Deadly Explosion

The family of a stuntman who was killed during an explosion on the set of "The Expendables 2" is suing producers ... claiming they failed to take proper safety precautions during a stunt-gone-wrong in Bulgaria.

According to the lawsuit, Kun Liu was shooting an action scene that took place on a rubber boat near the Ognyanovo Reservoir on October 27, 2011. The scene involved the use of high powered explosives and other "ultra-hazardous activities."

But something went horribly wrong ... and according to the suit, 26-year-old Liu was killed during the filming of the scene.

Liu's parents blame the production company, Millennium Films, and the stunt coordinator, Chad Stahelski ... and now they're suing both parties for wrongful death.

Liu's family believes they should be compensated for funeral expenses ... and for the loss of their son's "society, love, comfort, attention, services and support."

Liu's family is demanding more than $25k.

How would his parents know? Were they on set? Are they movie stunt safety experts? Anyway, they must be from a third world country if they think $25K is a lot, or was all they could get. Americans would have sued them for at least $25 million.

These big stars can't come up with 25 gs for this family? If one of my employees family members died and they didn't have the money I'd bury em.

Sounds reasonable to me. Sadly, Stallone understands what it means to lose a family member. The amount doesn't make it sound like they want to profit, but instead to pay funeral expenses. Which to me, is reasonable and fair.

The authorities reported that another stuntman also injured in this blast. What happened to that man?

This sounds like a bad.ass action movie if people are getting blown up before the opening credits even start rolling! Hopefully I don't get blown up while watching it!

25K??? I'm sure anyone would value his or her life more than 25K. Compensate the family and double the money or even triple it cause by just asking for 25K shows that they are not greedy. just saying...

The family should get a lot more. It is terrible that a person died over making this movie and maybe they need to be more careful so it never happens again.
