Far fewer people in Germany have multiple guns and go crazy in movie theaters killing right and left.

you need to start letting go of the past.
otherwise america needs to be reminded about pearl harbor/vietnam and what happened to the native americans and so many other cruel things. its getting old to always mention germany for their past. you need to learn from the past, but live in the present. and there are many, many things america cannot be proud of, and i am american.

Bringing up Nazism in the context of what this man was saying is a cheap shot. His point is well taken. He is talking about the German society today vs the American society today. If you want to compare bloody histories, then do so. But the USA has a less than stellar record itself.

It must be that the Muslim nations like Germany? And they do not have people like Joan Rivers living there spewing nasty lies.

As long as there's still ONE holocaust survivor left on the planet...don't count on Germany getting a pass.

Ha, Germany has learned from its mistakes. No, they were schooled by losing. The Germans have fostered a warrior culture and breeding over centuries that believe me, believe me, still exists in the German character. It will emerge again, in one form or another.

one-liners, I love em. Alas, they don't always work when you want 'em! Kudos to TMZ for facing off to the intercultural and historical challenges of the Olympics. Maybe once in a while interview sports stars, artists and producers that tackle tough issues like the ones raised here. No, I don't know how to make it funny.

Lets see...The US has 4x the population, so if you multiple Germany's crime by 4, it equals the US.

I don't know what business he has making such a statement, yet

I also don't understand the link that is being made in the comments between his statement and the Holocaust.

Yes, this happened in Germany and cannot be excused, but it does not change the fact that the US has shockingly high homicide rates and instead of pointing at atrocities 70 years ago, how about concentrating the discussion on how to improve the here and now ?
