Lance Armstrong

Stripped of ALL

Tour De France Wins

8/24/2012 9:02 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

Lance Armstrong is no longer a Tour de France champion ... the cyclist has been STRIPPED of his seven titles in the wake of allegations that he used banned performance-enhancers.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency made the announcement this morning ... Armstrong will not only lose his victories, he has also been banned from the sport of cycling for life.

Armstrong has adamantly denied the allegations ... claiming the testing process is "one-sided and unfair."

Lance released a statement responding to a USADA official yesterday saying, "There is zero physical evidence to support his outlandish and heinous claims."

"The only physical evidence here is the hundreds of controls I have passed with flying colors. I made myself available around the clock and around the world. In-competition. Out of competition. Blood. Urine. Whatever they asked for I provided. What is the point of all this testing if, in the end, USADA will not stand by it?"

Complete an total B.S. Lace road his ass off for 7 TDF's. I watched every single one of them and was in Paris when he won his 7th. He is a winner in my book, and always will be.

if he was doping, this should have happened years and years ago.. seems suspect that it is an issue now

He could have chosen to go to arbitration, which would have meant that witnesses could testify against him in a hearing possibly open to the public. Instead, he chose to bow out of the process.

he didn't want everyone to hear the TRUTH...

This is a great, great day in sports...to all of the dummies who believe in this clown, your hero is now a zero..absolutely love it..time to payback your monies you scammed from sponsors cheater.BTW..it was the USDA who put this out there, not a group from France, although they put proof forward...thank you France for helping real atheletes earn their medals and awards.

The only one who gives up on clearing his name after such a long fight obviously means he is guilty and does not care anymore because he has bigger and better things in his life now! A side note: of coarse he passed the tests, he had a free pass to dope because of his cancer. Mind you, cycling is full of cheaters because that is the only way to actually be on a level playing field with all the other riders. Realistically this has nothing to do with where he is from but has everything to do with fairness in a cut-throat sport.

What good are their tests if the results aren't honored? Lance is one of the all time greats and they can NEVER take that away from him. This is all about jealousy of Excellence, especially AMERICAN Excellence. Who would be all that interested in these races if it were't for Lance? He's been the Poster Boy for the sport since 1998. Interest in HIM is what generated $$$$ for everybody, so now they want to kill the Golden Goose? Brilliant.....

Tygart (head of USADA) gathered a group of people who swear they saw Armstrong doping. There has been no trial, no due process, but in the minds of many, that testimony outweighs the results of hundreds of drug tests.

People lie. Blood and urine usually don’t. And if they do, they don’t lie 500 times. People do. Some lie that many times in a week. But okay. Let’s assume these people really are witnesses, let’s assume they’re telling the truth, and then let’s assume that their testimony is the new standard, outweighing all drug test results.

Then what in the world is the point of drug testing? In any sport, by any group, at any level of competition? If the results can be discarded in favor of testimony, then let’s go right to the testimony phase and quit horsing around with blood and urine. The cheaters are always ahead of USADA and its brethren anyway. They have deeper pockets and better doctors. So let’s toss out the baby with the blood and urine bath water and just call in witnesses who will recount all the bad things they saw their fellow competitors do. What in the world could possibly be wrong with that system?

Wow how far from the "truth" can we get with this story? The USADA doesnt have the authority to strip Lance of his titles, that is reserved for the International Cycling Union, who isn't stripping him at this time. Way to put a spin on this one hehehe knuckleheads

I know this hurts. but this is the final step in a long process. lance has been given a GOLDEN opportunity to counter all of the evidence that has piled up against him with the arbitration hearing. He would be able to strike down all those who will testify against him. Expose all the weaknesses in the physical evidence that is against him. Drive a stake through whatever doubt there is about him..... And he balked.
I know this doesn't prove anything but it speaks volumes to me that a fighter like Lance would walk away from this.

It's sad how many people need to cling to their childish fantasies about heroes and role models. Lance Armstrong is a human being, not a God. He doped, he knows he's caught, and he's still too much of a coward with a big ego to be truthful about it. Stop putting people on pedestals like this and you'll be less disappointed every time they inevitably fall.
