Mitt Romney Event

Drops $500k on Journey Concert

ANY WAY YOU WANT IT ... is exactly what the band Journey said when they were offered $500,000 to play a campaign event for Mitt Romney ... and they accepted, TMZ has learned.

Sources tell TMZ ... the shin-dig is set to go down at a private fundraising party in Tampa, FL on Thursday night while the Republican National Convention is in town. We're told the American Action Network threw down a whopping $500,000 to secure the 90-minute set.

Sources tell us ... Journey is NOT making a political statement by accepting the offer and made it clear -- it's just another gig.

Recently divorced Michaele Salahi will also be there (with an invite, no less) to cheer on her rocker boyfriend, Neal Schon.

Journey outsourced for a lead singer. They're right up Romney's alley.

Dropping serious bucks in quite this shaky economy for a band? This guy is not hurting and this worries me bc most of us are still out of jobs. Is this man in touch with the average american? After dropping so much on a band (imagine what the food bill was, if there was food), I seriously doubt it. Talk about flaunting your money around!

It's official folks...Journey has reached the bottom of the barrel. Oh well, at least the extra cash will help support Michaele's gold digging habits.

Sorry, but without Steve Perry this is nothing more than a skeleton of Journey. Romney just paid all that money and won't get the pleasure of hearing Steve Perry sing. What a dumb ass!

Looks like Journey is finally getting their credibility back and I think DopeLikeCoke needs to learn his history the Democrat Party started the KKK and they still maintain it to this day

@KARLEW
The Republican party was much different then.
Ther was a lot of controversy concerning LINCOLN.
Today the republican party is no longer a staunch supporter of equal rights. Lester Maddox was a republican candidate for president I believe. The anti-segregation supporting politicians were republican. They used "states rights as the platform for a code for racism. Just as today, attacks on Obama are covering for racism.

Psst.
Romney is continuing his war on women's rights.
Don't tell him they have the vote now.
