Clint Eastwood

Bumbles Through

Invisible Obama Schtick

8/31/2012 6:05 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

083112_eastwood_rnc_launch
Clint Eastwood brought down the partisan crowd at the RNC by stumbling through an 11-minute bit last night that was supposed to be painfully hysterical ... but might have been just painful.

The legendary actor/director got on stage and addressed an empty stool next to him, saying ... "I've got Mr. Obama sitting here. I just was gonna ask him a couple questions."

During the schtick 82-year-old Clint seemed confused at times as he critiqued the President's 4 years in office ... and set up punchlines like, "What do you want me to tell Romney? I can't tell him to do that. He can't do that to himself."

President Obama responded to the invisible routine this morning by tweeting a pic of the back of his chair with the message, "This seat's taken."

No doubt, landing an icon like Eastwood to warm up the crowd for Mitt Romney was a coup for the GOP -- but still, we gotta ask ...

Had he done the same thing for Obama, w/ Romney as the empty chair, the TMZ crowd & Ebert & Brokaw would be cheering. The guy only said what was true,
you fail at your job, you're let go. You are an empty suit, on an empty chair, that's a good sign to see ya'....Clint was very good. Sure, he's old. So is Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Buffet, Bloomberg, Streisand, Belafonte, they're all darn old.... and they are hailed for their pro-Obama, words, incoherent as they may be at times. Way to go Clint......perfect.

Obama should win this election in a landslide w/ the media help he is getting, as all Democrats get. If he loses it's not due to Romney so much, as it is the horrible job he is doing, and has done, and the arrogance he has done it with while putting the country down most of the way. Sorry, are you better off than 4 years ago? Do you think Obama will make you better off as President in 4 more years?
No. Double no. Bye bye. Barry........

The only "invisible" president that should be mocked - is missing George W.
.
You know their former president the Republicans were too embarrassed to invite to the RNC.

Hey Harvey, were you invited to Obama's 4th Annual Iftar Dinner for Muslims.
Of course not, you are Jewish, right.
by the way, when was Obama last in Israel?
NEVER -
Look it up, but he has visited every Muslim country in the world, bowing and scraping to them all.

It was very embarrassing and someone said he acts this way at home. Maybe he is just getting old and did not know President Obama was not sitting in the chair. Maybe he thought President Obama was talking to him. Weird show.

Obama makes another one of his snide, sarcastic comments. Not a statesman nor a president.

I love Clint. I think what he did was pretty cool. I'd rather watch him speak to an empty chair then listen to even 17 seconds of taylor hicks.

How many ways can one say, "mistake"?
Republican convention went off the rails with this one.

Is this a taste of what Republican good judgment looks like?
What the hell were they thinking?

This was the last night of the Republican convention.
And we are given this?

I am going to try to forget this misstep by this great actor, director.
Right now, I can only managed to feel sorry for him.
And to feel sorry for the poor bozo who talked the convention committee into this stunt.

4 years ago, under BUSH, we were LOSING 750,000 jobs per MONTH. These are the facts. What the hell is Romeny gonna do better, please..explain? Yeah, sure...Romney helped make companies successful, his goal however was to make MONEY, not jobs and within those companies, many were laid off and he made millions.

People were putting their money in their mattresses four years ago for pete's sake! Better off today, absolutely. Let's not forget too, the WAR - WMD, where most of our debt comes from. There should never have been a WAR! Countless, thousands of lives lost. The lies during the convention were outrageous too.

NO, that skit with Eastwood was NOT funny and the Romney camp are not pleased. This is not a joke, this was a convention for the republican nomination for the President of the United States. Pathetic!

Do any of you know how long it took US to get out of the Great Depression..???? Was it 4 years, I think not. We were almost there, banks failing, homes, retirements - pensions - saving lost, people being laid off daily, millions! Get a clue.
