Michael Jackson

'This Is It' Promoters

Called Jackson a 'Mess'

9/2/2012 3:50 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0717_michael_jackson_article_gettyMichael Jackson was "an emotionally paralyzed mess" who was "scared to death" leading up to his planned "This Is It" concerts in 2009, this according to newly obtained emails sent by the promoters of the show.

In the emails, obtained by the LA Times, AEG's Randy Phillips traded messages back and forth with AEG President Tim Leiweke. In one email leading up to the 2009 press conference to announce the concerts, Phillips wrote, "MJ is locked in his room drunk and despondent ... I (am) trying to sober him up."

Phillips said Jackson was "an emotionally paralyzed mess," that Jackson was "scared to death," and that Phillips and Jackson's manager had to dress him. The press conference ended up being very brief and very strange.

The emails were part of the discovery in an ongoing lawsuit between AEG and the insurance company that backed the tour ... which is suing to get the $17.5 million policy nullified.

Wow went to bed last night woke up to yet another Jackson story or should I say non story. Let it go if only for the sake of his children. MJ's kids are the only people who loved him for him. Yes is was a mess it was out there for all the world to see. There is no point in rehashing all of this.Emails don't tell the entire story look at all the years Keith Richards was strung out but all we could see was his performing not what it took to get him on the stage. All through showbiz history there have been troubled stars and the efforts to get them to perform. If someone in an average job had these problems we would be fired end of story. Leave MJ alone it is just going to stir up his greedy, moronic family and cause pain for his children and no one can say he screwed his kids up. As much as I loved MJ's music and thought he was a freak while alive seeing how well he raised his children trumps all of that. LET THIS MAN RIP.

Like anyone with half a brain hadn't known for years before his death, that he was a train wreck waiting to happen! It amazes me that people are still in denial about him, and still try to defend him.

"an emotionally paralyzed mess"

MICHAEL WAS NOT A "MESS". MICHAEL WAS A LEGEND, AN ICON, A GENIUS.

RANDY, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL, IF YOU HAD KNOWN THAT A DEATH CONCERT PLOT WAS IN PROGRESS, HUH? HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU HAD KNOWN THAT YOU ARE THE PART OF THE MORTAL PLOT, HUH? WOULD YOU SMILE, LAUGH AND FEEL HAPPY?

MICHEL, HAD HAD A FEELING THAT "THIS IS REALLY IT". HE HAD BEEN AWARE OF THE PLOT, ALLEGEDLY CONSPIRED BY THE "PEOPLE" "CLOSE" TO HIM AT THAT TIME.

MICHAEL HAD KNOWN THAT HE WAS THE PLAN OF THE "EMOTIONALLY "PARALYZED MESS" WHOSE PLAN WAS TO GRAB THE MONEY MICHAEL COST AT THAT TIME.

WAKE UP, THE WHOLE WORLD IS AWAKE.

GOD IS WATCHING ALL OF THE "MESS" INVOLVED IN THE PLOT.

Seems to me MJ was just like every other rockstar,he got drunk,he used drugs. The problem was when he tried to hide this from the world it made him look weird to the rest of us.

Did the doctor insist that Michael's parents sign a release form to donate Michael's organs when he died? I'm just wondering. Since the doctor thought he could get away with murdering Michael Jackson, if the doctor also thought he was going to cash in on all Michael's organs also??!!

He was killing himself slowly over the years. Between self destruction,,spending habits, abuse of prescription drugs and fame.combine all that with the controversy and trouble he's had with legal issues It was bound to happen.

I loved Michael Jackson's music, but he was indeed a tortured soul. His childhood, well, there was none. His own family betrayed him in so many ways. This family is so disfunctional that there was no hope for Michael.
Hopefully, his children will have a better chance at life. Michael was in desperate need of professional, but instead, all around him fed on him!

MJ was in my opinion was the best artist ever. my question is to me this poor guy was obvisiously not well enough to take care of himself without the drugs, he should of been admitted into a hospital to get the help he needed, thats what rehab is for and don;t say it could of not been done. there are lots of people that are sent into rehab with out the consent of the person due to the fact that is was unable to make rational desicions. The so called dr. murry to me did not get enough years for the death of Michael, he was so greedy and all he cared about was the money. i dont care if michael kicked and screamed, i would of had him admitted, then maybe today he would still be here. so sad i can watch his videos over and over again nobody comes close to this man's talent. there still are great talents out there but in my opinion one holds a candle to Michael Jackson.
