Amanda Bynes

Pulled Over in L.A.

After License Suspended

Amanda Bynes was pulled over in L.A. last night after her driver's license was suspended -- but somehow, she didn't end up in jail.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Bynes was pulled over for driving without her headlights on. We're told she was given a verbal warning and sent on her way.

It's unclear if officers ran the actress' license -- because if they did, they might have noticed it was reportedly SUSPENDED last week after the actress was slapped with two misdemeanor hit-and-run charges.  She also refused to take a breathalyzer after being busted for DUI, and that triggers an automatic 1-year license suspension.

It's unclear if the license has since been reinstated -- but with such a short time frame, it's VERY unlikely.

Calls to Bynes' camp were not returned.

DMV suspensions take effect after 30 days from the date of the violation. That is, unless DMV does not uphold the Admin Per Se violation. The DMV hearing is not tied to the court.

The court suspension takes weeks to be entered into DMV computers due, largely in part, to DMV inefficiency.

To assume 'celebrity justice' would imply that these officers even cared. Realistically, the information was most likely not in the database yet.

This is some Bull Shiz!!! I am so tired of celebrities getting special treatment. If any non celebrity had the charges that she has right now they would be arrested and put in jail. Since these cops are on film they should be suspended for not following the law and rules. I hope the judge sees this video and sends her to jail.

LA is good for surgery and tacos, not too many thinkers out here and the cops are a joke...bunch of hillbillies that moved to a "big city" to "make sumfins" of themselves

That looks like a recent shot of vomit going down the drivers side door. Come on girl get a driver and someone to wash that car. BTW, I love Amanda.

No, actually, it's not unusual. If it was suspended just a week ago, it won't show up in the system for a while. I had my driver licenses suspended for 60 days, and it only showed in the system as suspended for the last 10 days. I was pulled over AND given a speeding ticket during those 60 days, cause the cop couldn't see that it was suspended. There's a phone number they give you to check on the status of your driver license, and I just kept on checking every day, as long as it would tell me "valid" I'd keep on driving. Government agencies for ya...

What the heck. Is she now getting the star treatment or was the cop simply looking for a date. Any other person would have had their car towed away and at the very least "given a citation". To add insult to injury, the cops allowed her to simply 'drive away'. Are you kidding me.

Both of these officers should be reprimanded for failing to enforce the law. I can see if this was just a one time thing with a simple mistake of turning on the lights being released with just a verbal warning. But this situation does not come close to that description as forgetting simple things like common sence when desciding when to press on the brake, determining when you have the SAFE right of way, etc. Failing to turn on her head lights is just another contributing factor to her utter failure as a driver.

Note to LAPD: It is still not to late to go and "pick her up and cuff her". At what point does this woman become accountable based upon the Laws of the State of California (like the rest of us little people) insteat of being granted the gift of "Star Struck Justice". You know, like spending more than a few hours in jail when the average Joe/Jane spend months in jail?

Just asking! Any response?
