Randy Jackson

Gets Reprieve

on 'American Idol'

Randy Jackson is staying at the judge's table on "American Idol" ... after negotiations with Enrique Iglesias fizzled out.

Sources tell TMZ ... Jackson is very close to signing his deal ... after producers initially tried to move the dawg away from the judge's table and use him as a "mentor." We're told Jackson wasn't too pleased with those plans.

But now, with Iglesias seemingly out of the picture ... and auditions starting in a just a few days ... producers need to get a famous ass in the seat ... and they know Jackson can get the job done.

As for the other 3 seats -- Mariah Carey is already locked in ... and sources tell us negotiations with Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj could be finalized any minute.

Clock's ticking ... auditions for the 12th installment of the show begin in less than two weeks.

Nicki Minaj, oh seriously? Dear god, a year ago no one knew who this chick was. Keith Urban? Meh, I won't watch, not that I did when they hired J-Ho or Tyler. Like everyone said, since when is a talent show about judges?

Keith Urban don't sign on the dotted line unless you are going to make at least as much as autotune queen Minaj.

Why choose Nicki Minaj? It's American Idol, not Auto- Tune Idol.
In all honesty, stick a fork in this show, it's done.

Maybe it's time for American Idol to say goodbye...Good luck Randy! P.S. Enrique would've been GREAT!

4 judges? I can hardly stand to listen to 3 judges repeat the same thing over and over. Contestants are either good or bad, how hard is that to figure out? God forbid they end up with a 2-2 tie.

Amazing how Randy takes all of this from AI and still keeps taking it. Surely, he must have some pride afterall, he does have other job commitments and would not be left high and dry!!

Is he stuck in a contract? If not then he better demand some pretty big bucks or he should walk. He's made enough money that he doesn't need AI, especially the way they are treating him.

Either way, he better plan on being post-AI as I don't see the show lasting more than 2 more seasons.

Why not just get Paul Stanley from Kiss? He'd be great at it. He know how to sing (has done Phantom Of The Opera), he know how to put on a show (lead singer of Kiss, Hello) and he has fantastic star power with Rock Credentials.

The show has gone downhill because it has become more about the judges than the contestants. Who cares about the judges???? People tune in to see the talent...judges...please get over yourselves...you make outrages $$ for doing nothing...no one cares about you....

Thank goodness he got his job back. I wouldn't want him to get on section 8 and live on welfare forever. Especially since he hasn't any talent's and wouldn't be able to get another job.

Enrique Iglesias judging a singing competition would have been like Russell Brand judging a comedy competition. Enrique can't sing to save his life, but at least he's cute as a button!
