NFL's Final Decision

TERRIBLE Call Stands

The NFL is backing what's being called the WORST CALL IN LEAGUE HISTORY -- refusing to overturn last night's Seattle Seahawks touchdown against the Green Bay Packers ... and standing by their replacement refs.

League officials released a statement moments ago, saying, "Referee Wayne Elliott determined that no indisputable visual evidence existed to overturn the call on the field, and as a result, the on-field ruling of touchdown stood."

The NFL goes on to say upon even further review of the video today ... it supports the "decision not to overturn the on-field ruling" and the result of the game is final.

In other news, NFL broadcasts are now available in braille.

Honestly I'm glad things are turning out this way right now. The referees are professionals just like the players and they deserve to get high salaries too. They are the best of the best and I think everyone, including the NFL itself, took them for granted. Thinking you can just grab a bunch of college and high school refs to do the job is ludicrous. I hope this forces the NFLs hand and they finally settle the dispute.

Gerry Austin, a 27 year ref who retired last year, Eric Davis one of the best corners to ever play, John Clayton ESPN analyst.... all have stated it came down to mutual possession 'when they hit the ground'. Thus it's a simultaneous catch. The push wasn't called, wasn't reviewable, and the Touchdown call on the field wasn't overturnable, nor should it have been. Grow up and get over it.

LAUGHS AT YOU

Amazing how upset people can get over a game mostly played and administrated by people who don't care what you think. They know you will bang your pans and throw your beer at the tv but will come crawling back when they are done with their business issue.

Even funnier that there were plenty of arguments about the full-time refs when they were around.

Makes me think more people need a life if they take such an overproduced sport so seriously. I guess it's better than thinking what a disaster this country has become.

Worst call? No that would have been the Brady tuck. It cost the Raiders a playoff win and ultimately gave the Patriots their first super bowl. Bad calls are part of the game unfortunately and always will be.

What about the other call on the field. One said touchdown and one said no. How do you decide which one to go with? Whichever helps your story, I guess.
