'Shark Tank' Winner

WWE Star Made My Son Cry

DEMANDS APOLOGY

EXCLUSIVE

A mother will do anything to protect her kid -- just ask former "Shark Tank" winner Shelly Ehler ... who's picking a fight with a 6'5", 239-pound WWE star after he made her 8-year-old cry.

Ehler -- who scored a $75k investment on "Tank" for her ShowNo towels -- has a serious beef with Alberto Del Rio ... who snatched her son's handmade sign during a WWE event in Anaheim, CA this weekend ... and RIPPED IT UP (or at least tried to).

In the video (above) Del Rio isn't quite strong enough to rip the sign in half (it is cardboard) ... so he takes off small, pathetic, chunks instead.

FYI -- it's standard practice for the wrestlers to interact with audience members "in character." In this case, the sign was pro-Sheamus ... the wrestling arch-nemesis of Del Rio.

But TMZ spoke to Shelly, who says her 8-year-old was terrified by the wrestler's actions and instantly burst into tears. She adds, "Del Rio is a bully. I looked at him and said 'he's crying' ... and he mocked him."

Shelly -- who says her 8-year-old cried all the way home -- vented her frustrations to the wrestler on Twitter and then fired off an angry letter to the WWE.

In the letter she says, "Take signs from adults NOT KIDS!  My son was bullied by your superstars and it is not okay."

Despite her demands, Shelly claims she's heard crickets from Del Rio -- but his manager tweeted her back and said, "lol blah blah blah."

FYI -- as soon as Shelly contacted Sheamus about the incident ... he immediately offered to send her son a signed photo and meet with him next time he's in town.

What a sissy your 8 yr old is. My 7 yr old son would have LOVED for a superstar to get that close. Remember, ITS ALL AN ACT!! Its just part of the show. Same as if the clowns come up to you in the circus and make you a balloon animal. Not that I'm comparing wwe to clowns, but you get my point.

You take your son to a freaking wrestling match and think you're going to the Metropolitan Opera where everyone is just so so well mannered? You're lucky they didn't throw a bucket of sweat on him. People come out of caves to watch those matches.

It is wrestling! which indicates that there is a fight. There is usually a bully and a nice guy. You should know that going into it you idiot. Tell your kid to pull up his underoos and enjoy the story that he has to tell of his interaction with a famous wrestler. Now go back to swimming in the low end of the gene pool.

Her son cried for hours and hours over a ripped sign? Lord have mercy I'd hate to see how much of a self-entitled spoiled brat this kid turns out to be. Because if he knew enough to "like" a wrestler, he and she both should know what goes on during that stuff or otherwise, it was no one he particularly liked and is throwing a tantrum over just cardboard. Neither scenario looks good here.

I don't care if it IS a wrestler thing to look like a dick and be an ass. Do it to an adult. Not a little kid. Any protective parent would have done the same thing. HEY PECKER HEAD, PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE!!! MUST HAVE A JELLY BEAN FOR A PENIS TO PICK ON AN 8 YEAR OLD!!!

how about finding some age appropriate entertainment for your 8 year old, yeah? how about not exposing his to entertainment that he's clearly not mature enough to handle? how about not bringing an 8 year old to events that glorify violence, sex and vulgarity?

What a moronic ma. Another example of a entitled nitwit claiming to be 'bullied' just to draw attention to themselves. These guys are ACTORS! Nothing else. If you're not there for the entertainment and everything that comes with that, stay at home.

For the sake of clarity, any Alberto Del Rio twitter accounts currently operating are all fake. He does not have a twitter account. So if she reached out to him personally via that platform, it would be futile.

Pretty standard fare for heels in wrestling to get involved with audience like this, but it is in poor taste that he took the sign from a child.

shut up

little kids like this is what is ruining wrestling, del rio is a heel or a bad guy and for years heels have grabbed signs from the crowd and ripped them up to gain heat and since this NON story made it on this garbage gossip site i'd say it's a job well done. BTW CM Punk kinda punched a fan in the face just so you know, pretty sure that's a hell of a lot more newsworthy than this little kid crying.
