Candy Crowley

CNN Ducking Controversy

10/17/2012 1:02 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

You'd think CNN would be thrilled with all the controversy over Candy Crowley's performance at last night's Presidential debate, but we've learned network honchos are NOT happy she's become part of the story.

Multiple sources connected with CNN tell TMZ ... the honchos think Candy did a good job, but they're freaking out over allegations that she was pro-Obama and harsh on Romney. As one source put it, "They want to make all of the publicity over Candy just go away, because it calls into question CNN's impartiality."

Another well-connected CNN source scoffs at the reaction, telling us, "It's typical. This type of publicity is great. More people know who Candy Crowley is than ever before, and CNN is blowing the chance of exploiting it."

A CNN source says putting Candy on the network last night immediately following the debate was not because CNN was bragging about her performance ... it was "damage control."

The source added, "What CNN cares about is the brand.  It's all about the brand."

So 1980.

A moderator is supposed to be both professional and neutral. Candy Crowley was neither. Very disappointing, CNN. She seemed to make light of the use of the word "terror" and "terrorist activities" when the issue of Libya was briefly raised. The president even joked with her about repeating what she had just said, and they both laughed. She must remember that Congressional hearings are currently being held to determine the culpability for well-do***ented evidence of impending violence at our consulate and embassy being ignored, resulting in the deaths of 4 Americans. This debate was more of a "game" to Ms. Crowley, and her bias was so obvious that several people watching changed their votes at the end of the poorly moderated debate. However, Ms. Crowley should never forget that there is no shortcut to professionalism and compassion, which go hand in hand for a successful and sincere journalist and moderator.

Candy Crowley should just dig a very big very deep hole and go live there for the rest of her life. She is a disgrace and an embarassment.

It has long been known that CNN is an Obama supporter, so this does not surprise me. This is why I no longer watch CNN or go to their website.

Candy Crowley failed to do her job by answering questions (incorrectly) for Governor Romney. CC said after the first debate of the presidential candidates that the narrator should get out of the way and let the candidates answer the questions. CC was definitely biased toward Obama. If she is going to answer the questions, she needs to know the answers. Go back to the transcripts, Candy, and you will see that Obama did not say, "This is an act of terrorism." Also, review Ambassador Rice's comments on "Meet the Press". Also, listen to the hearing on Capitol Hill in its entirety. Know the facts before you answer, Candy. Better yet, let the candidates answer the questions.

Candy C. is a very nice lady, but she did not do her job last night as moderator of the debate. After the first debate with the presidential candidates, CC commented, "The narrator should get out of the way and let the candidates speak." Answering questions for the candidates and answering them falsely is not your job, Candy. I was very disappointed with your performance. Mitt Romney is a decent, good man who will lead well. I trust him, but I do not trust Obama. He lied about his comments in the Rose Garden. I have heard all of the transcripts; I heard Ambassador Rice on Meet the Press when she emphatically stated, "This was, in fact, (the attack against the compound in Libyia) a result of the movie." Get the truth!! Get the truth about what was actually said!! Then, make up your mind. Also, listen to the hearings by the Oversight Committee which were conducted last week. Listen closely!! Then, make up your mind.

She was doing fine until she decided to interject herself into the debate, she was NOT hired to be the "final word" or fact checker or she could have done it a dozen times with both candidates, she choose Romney's best point of the night to blunt the cover-up (or whatever it is) over what happened in Libya. We can all read dozens of places where the Obama administration said it was because of the Youtube video, so why jump in at that point? Looked like she was throwing Obama a lifeline to me.

It was obvious even to this Obama voter that it was one sided "moderating."
A moderator has to be impartial becasue the bias actually doesn't add or support progress. Her bias actually hurts Obama - great job CNN.

Stop sugar coating the candy, she needs to go back to journalist school and learn when to keep her mouth shut. The candy has been crawling to her brain

Candy Crowley should be added to unemployment line. I have never been so embarrassed as an American as during debate when her behavior denied Americans the level of respect we should demand . CNN will never be the news organization it wants to be known for until this manipulative liability is fired and added to unemployment rolls.

Romney (R Money) thinks it's a good idea for insurance companies and businesses to regulate contraceptives for women. If that's the case then they should also regulate Viagra and Cialis!!!

It is just amazing how the dems stand by Obama. If any other person lied half as much as him they would have been crucified for it. The news channels don’t report the news and let the people make up their own minds anymore. They try and steer you in the direction THEY think is right. You can say what you want about Fox News but at least they put it all out there. Romney did great in both debates but it doesn’t matter cause the dems are reaching for straws right now.
