Lance Armstrong

No Apologies or Admissions

at Livestrong Event

10/20/2012 6:38 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

1019-lance-armstrong-livestrongLance Armstrong took the mic at a Livestrong event last night -- the charity he stepped down from this week -- but did not directly address his doping scandal, only saying it's "been a difficult couple of weeks for me and my family."

The gala dinner -- which was held in Austin, TX -- was expected to raise $2.5 million.

Armstrong is still a member of the board, but stepped down as its chairman on Wednesday as the doping scandal that has followed him for years continues to tear down his legacy.

He lost his endorsement deals this week with Nike, Giro Helmets, Trek Bicycles, FRS energy drink and Anheuser-Busch.

He reminds me of Nixon trying to cling to respect after Watergate. Accept Nixon didn't lie about use of performance enhancing drugs over and over and over.

Lance is a rock! Give everyone on the planet the same "drugs" and see anyone beat him in any race...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

Dudes a legacy. No one can ever take his wins away. He crossed first everytime and he's still a winner to America.

What a piece of garbage. I'm glad he's been knocked off his pedestal with this whole doping scandal. I've always heard nothing but bad things about his behavior to locals in Austin, TX.

Lance denied everything under oath in about 2005 so he's never gonna confess unless he's prepared to go to prison like Marion Jones.
The doping culture in European cycling goes back at least fifty years and all under the big gallic nose of the UCI. They are still denying that they let it all get way out of control, and they loved having an American starring in their sport so much they didn't care how he was doing it.

Isn't this man...a liar cheat & a thief? I wouldn't donate! If they took his titles away I think he should have to give back his winning as well$$. He cheated. They cheated!

Lance is a fraud in every sense of the word. He started the Livestrong campaign to garner sympathy & to help himself legally. Period. Disgusting & pathetic.

He is a do€#che bag. People here in Austin thinks he is a jerk because he is so unpleasant. Glad everyone is catching on.

Still waiting for scientific proof that he doped. Do ya think if they had REAL proof, not all the old hag conjecture, they wouldn't release it? In a heartbeat. Trouble is they still don't have scientific proof he doped.
