Hot Model Sues

Playboy Caused Me

Serious Labor Pains

10/22/2012 12:15 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1019_sarah_stage_twitter
A model who worked for Playboy for two days is suing the magazine for $225,000 ... all because she says the company didn't pay her on time.

According to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month, Sarah Stage claims she worked for Playboy on November 23-24, 2009 and the two sides agreed she would be paid $15,000 for her work.

Stage says Playboy agreed to pay her immediately ... but she didn't see a dime for weeks. Instead Sarah claims she had to repeatedly pester Playboy for her money until they finally cut her a check on January 11, 2010.

Stage claims that California Labor Law entitles her to 30 days worth of late penalties -- which would be her daily rates times 30 -- for a whopping $225,000 in late fees.

Stage is looking for the six-figure payout, plus attorney's fees and costs.

FUN FACT -- If Stage looks familiar to you, that's because she was one of Sacha Baron Cohen's "bodyguards" (the one on the right) when he "accidentally" spilled ash all over Ryan Seacrest at the Oscars. The more you know.

just my opinion

shouldve paid her on time. while i think the amount of late fees is quite excessive the reality is that some employers regularly pay their employees late. in the real world this could mean someone not being able to pay their rent, or keep their water or lights on! my friends job(mom&pop) routinely pays them 4-5 days late each pay period...may not seem like a big deal to people who arent living paycheck to paycheck but it is!

Another product of the Kalifornia "Everythin' free in Amelica!" lifestyle.

I'd rather earn $100.00 than whine, sleaze, loophole, beg or "lawyer up" for $1000.00

Diamond Goddess!

No surprise.
Playboy hasn't been doing well for awhile.
Seems like an excessive award, however, to ask for.

except she was paid as an independent contractor, not as an employee so that labor rule doesn't apply to her - she needs to buy a ticket if she wants to win the lottery - like the rest of us

Excuse me, that sounds like about the correct amount of turnaround time for a one-shot or contract worker. I mean even a full-time person working at Playboy for years wouldn't have received the paycheck covering those days until sometime in mid-December.

She got paid $7,500/day? Holy crap. The benefits of being hot, I guess.

It won't take long for a judge to reduce her claim though.

She may have looks but she has no brains. If She sues she will never work in this area again. PLayboy (and most name brand items that are international) have long arms. Some one working one place travels and subs other, or just a phone call. Friend to friend. and then her job offer never goes out. stupid.........
