Phillip Phillips' Family

'Idol' Champ's Forcing Us

To Sell Pawn Shop

11/3/2012 6:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Phillip Phillips
' family says the singer left them high and dry after winning "American Idol" -- refusing to help them out financially -- and now, they've been forced to sell their cherished family business ... Phillips family sources tell TMZ.

The Phillips family-owned Albany Sporting Goods and Pawn -- which has been in the family for 24 years -- is scheduled to hit the auction block on December 1st ... and we're told, Phillip's dad hopes to use the profits to cover the family's mounting debt.

We're told Phillip's dad hopes to bring in between $200,000-250,000 during the auction.

We're told Phillip's family has reached out multiple times to the singer for financial help since he hit it big, but Phil has blown them off.

According to Phillips family sources, the family's especially hurt by the singer's radio silence -- since they spent a ton of money on travel expenses so they could see Phillip compete on "Idol."

We made multiple calls to Phillip Phillips over several days -- but our calls were not returned.

IT NEVER OCCURRED TO ME that raising a child was a "business" deal. Check out post #182. That should bring the speculation to a close.

This may a a very smart move for Philip and his family. I just moved out of Albany GA. It has no Jobs and the economy there is TERRIBLE ! Even if he bails them out .He would have to keep the pawn shop running with HIS money. I left because of the economy there. Albany is a place where the city counsil wants to keep it from growing and it has such potential. It s a shame.

This is tabloid gossip at its lowest. I do not believe a word of this nonsense. Don't think it's at all a coincidence that no sources are identified.

TMZ: Too bad you don't have the guts to print the story of what Phillilp Phillips is doing to help in the relief disaster of Hurricaine Sandy and how his song, Home, has been used by a local radio station to do***ent the devasation caused.

Reporter should be ashamed making this young man out to be cold-hearted and shameless withouth telling the whole story. What the reporter may be leaving out is that the family he is supposedly hurting are nothing but leeches, who thought all along they would rake in the money for "themselves" should he win AI. It's interesting, how if a liberal is writing the story, there is always a "rich" guy, and the poor, pitiful victims. It is also interesting, how if a liberal is hunting up a rich man to lambast for his cold, cold heart, they somehow never mention that Barack Husseium Obama has poor family members, even a brother who live in poverty, who Barack makes no attempt to help out. What's going on here? Could there be a little bias against the rich, and a failure to find any fault in "His Majesty", Barack Husseim Obama? Hmmmm?

I think TMZ should get all the facts before they print such RUBBISH....

NO--Phillips is NOT forcing you to do anything---you did it to yourself. Who would you be blaming if he hadn't won? Be accountable!

Fantasia's family said the same thing, after they sucked her dry of every cent and then wanted more.
There is more to this story,

I have never seen this guy before, so he must not be too famous...How much money can he have? LOL American Idol...I look at people who come off of that show as a contest winner...not a true artist. Who is this guy anyway?

This guy has such talent and unique style. They used his music at The Olympics and he sang The National anthem recently. They've got to get him out there. He will sell. If they can push that heffer Kelly C. why not Phillip? Maybe Ryan has him all to himself.

This is probably just the media making something up out of partial truths. I watch this idol winner and he in no way acted like a spoiled brat and he definitely showed nothing but love and compassion for his family. Do not believe everything you read.
