Angus T. Jones has just issued a statement ... sorta, kinda apologizing for biting the hand that feeds him when he went off on "Two and a Half Men."

In his statement, Jones praises the honchos behind the sitcom ... saying, "Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them."

He goes on, "I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that."

As we previously reported, Jones appeared in a video with a man he considered a spiritual adviser and blasted "Men" ... calling the show "filth" and urging people not to watch it.

Here's Angus' statement in full:

"I have been the subject of much discussion, speculation and commentary over the past 24 hours.

While I cannot address everything that has been said or right every misstatement or misunderstanding, there is one thing I want to make clear. Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family.

Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.

I also want all of the crew and cast on our show to know how much I personally care for them and appreciate their support, guidance and love over the years. I grew up around them and know that the time they spent with me was in many instances more than with their own families. I learned life lessons from so many of them and will never forget how much positive impact they have had on my life.

I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that."

I think he made it clear he does not care about his career. What he does care about is not hurting the feelings of the people he has worked with. This is consistent with being polite and being a good Christian.

Angus has come of age and no longer has to sell his soul. End of story.

I think many people are confusing this Forerunner person who interviewed Angus and they are thinking he is a spiritual adviser. The Forerunner is a guy who makes YouTube videos. He is not a leader in the Seventh-day Adventist church. How can people be ignorant of this fact? He merely wanted an interview with Angus, like many other reporters.

I'm a Christian and I agree this show is filth. I can't even watch it with my kids. No morals whatsoever. I will say, it is pretty funny though.
He's either just a new born again Christian who is on fire or he is veering on the edge of cult. I can't say. His parents should check out his church.

Don't call my denomination a cult

I'm really saddened by the way everyone is considering Adventism a cult without really doing any research into it. I am an Adventist and, though I disagree with people like him who believe some extremes, I still see the reason one would believe this way and don't feel like it's fair to judge them for it. I can see why he doesn't want to be on the show anymore as his character does things he, personally, would not do. I think it's really dumb that we chastise celebrities for standing up for their beliefs. You don't chastise your friends if they are standing up for a belief you disagree with, right? I sure hope you don't because I wouldn't want to be your friend otherwise.
