Victorious the Day After

12/2/2012 12:20 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1202_CHEIFS_GAMEJust one day after linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend and then himself, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Carolina Panthers, 27-21.

Brady Quinn threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns and Jamaal Charles added 127 yards on the ground in the victory ... which is just the second of the season for the Chiefs.

Early Saturday morning, Belcher shot his girlfriend at their home, then drove to the team facility and thanked team personnel before he shot himself.

Belcher was 25.

Sad, just sad. Game should have been canceled. Money, always wins over morals!

Either way this man was a teammate, a friend, a son, etc. we have no room to judge because none of us know what happens behind closed doors. R.I.P. to both of them. Thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.

I believe he had personal issues, maybe a mental disorder - I hoping something was wrong with him that would cause him to so this. I believe out of honor for him, where his suicide took place - I would've liked to have seen the canceled or moved (I guess they played at home).

F*ck Belcher.. If his sorry ass wanted to die he didn't need to kill his girlfriend. He will be remembered as a coward. Nothing more.

I highly doubt winning today meant anything to the team. They're all on auto pilot just trying to cope. They would give back that win to have had yesterday never happen.

I read an article there is a strong link between football players and depression.
I guess all these years of brain getting rattled inside of the helmet and some people get seriously get messed up in the brain.
If family members never suspected any problem between them and they just had a baby 3 months ago, that might be a cause.
Either way, it is a big tragedy.

It's really just sad... Cowardly.. sure.. I guess.. doubt fear played much of a part really but ok. Not sure what happened.. by all family accounts things were fine.. maybe there were other issues.. you know like the wrestler who killed his family. 25 is still really young and from friends and family there were no problems.. who knows what happened.. what snapped.. he took a life.. and then was judge jury and executioner unto himself. Thankfully he didn't harm his daughter physically. ..hopefully family will make sure she also doesn't suffer too much emotionally.

I do not think anybody should feel sorry for Javon Belcher he is a cold blooded murder, and then took the cowards way out and killed himself. He left his little girl without a loving mother and a gutless coward for a father. The child and mother should be honored, and Javon Belcher should just go away.

They should have burned his jersey before the start of the game. It is beyond disgusting for them to say ANYTHING even remotely positive about this monster. For people to say they don't condone what he did but then go on to say what a great guy he was is revolting. He killed his wife and the mother of his child, this and only this is what this monster should be remembered for.

Why do these disturbed men kill others before themselves? If one is devastated and depressed over life issues and feeling suicidal, hurting people who have loved you won't change how you feel. Seek help reasoning ...it is out there! Or be strong enough to end only Your misery.

Blessings to the families...my heart goes out to you.

Who the heck cares what he achieved in football! It doesn't matter what his issues were. He chose to be a murderer and shoot hisbaby's mother NINE times. They are also reporting he abused prescription pain pills and drank heavily on a nightly basis. The man was messed up from all that regardless of whether or not he had any head injuries. Then he wasn't man enough to take responsibilty and took the chicken way out!
