Kate Middleton Nurse Suicide

Lexus Pulls Ads from Radio

Station Behind the Prank

12/8/2012 12:16 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1208-australian-dj-lexus
Lexus Australia
has axed all of their advertising from 2DAYFM ... the radio station that allowed two DJs to prank call Kate Middleton's hospital ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke to a rep for Lexus AU ... who tells us the company has officially pulled the plug on their media campaign due to "the current situation" -- specifically the suspected suicide of the nurse who answered the call.

We're told this isn't the first time Lexus AU has pulled ads from 2DAYFM. The car company pulled ads from the station last year as well following an incident with a different announcer.

This recent ad campaign (which began November 1) was the company's first with the station since then.

i sure hope i do not bump into someone at a store and forget to say excuse me.then the person goes home and takes their life.then society finds out they did it because i didnt say excuse me.they would think i belong in prison for it.

Well then they should pull their ads from ALL radio stations who perform these types of phone call pranks. You are either against the practice as a whole, or you aren't. You can't just be against this one instance because the lady happened to kill herself. Because any time one of these pranks are done, the person on the other end could be mentally unstable and kill themselves from embarrassment or feeling foolish or for having fallen for a prank in a public setting. Better not support any shows like Punk'd because the celebrities could end up killing themselves. And better not advertise on any Candid Camera type shows either because who knows how many of those people could go kill themselves.

Committing suicide is nobody"s fault than the person who does it. I'm sorry to say but to blame it on a prank which would have been forgotten after few days is completely idiotic. Maybe it is time to grow up and lighten up. Even if her job was at stake, it is just a job. Was that more important than the two children left behind?

The staff at the hospital should have been given a safe/code word to use that would help verify who can be given an update on a patient's condition assuming the patient has provided consent to do so.

Oh, and... In US she would have sued the **** out of that hospital for not having some sort of procedures to deal with this kind of situations. The hospital is as guilty as the DJs for not implementing a plan to deal with celebrities presence in the hospital

If one of the DJs commits suicide am I holding that person at Lexus responsible for their death? For those who want that outcome, I'm holding them responsible for murder.

I think it's totally absurd to blame the djs. She killed herself. The djs in my area (nor cal) play pranks all the time. No one kills themselves over it and ive heard far worse come out of a prank call then what they did. If u commit suicide you're mentally sick. Those djs didn't make her mentally sick, they shouldn't be held responsible and that's that. F Lexus and anyone who thinks the djs are to blame.
