Kate Middleton Nurse Suicide

Lexus Pulls Ads from Radio

Station Behind the Prank

12/8/2012 12:16 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1208-australian-dj-lexus
Lexus Australia
has axed all of their advertising from 2DAYFM ... the radio station that allowed two DJs to prank call Kate Middleton's hospital ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke to a rep for Lexus AU ... who tells us the company has officially pulled the plug on their media campaign due to "the current situation" -- specifically the suspected suicide of the nurse who answered the call.

We're told this isn't the first time Lexus AU has pulled ads from 2DAYFM. The car company pulled ads from the station last year as well following an incident with a different announcer.

This recent ad campaign (which began November 1) was the company's first with the station since then.

Basically, the nurses involved could potentially have had to go through three separate disciplinary processes, including those conducted by their employer and other inquiries conducted by the regulating authority and the Health Care Complaints Commission. The woman was made to look unprofessional and was the subject of INTERNATIONAL ridicule as well as being away from her family. There is a chance her career (she would believe ) would be over and you can see why this acted as a trigger. The call should have been passed to the hospital administrators at least instead if just the station lawyers.

The 2 Dj's are not to blame for her death l actually feel sorry for them as the guilt they feel will never go away my dad committed suicide and l do not wish the feeling of guilt and what ifs on anyone the nurse had mental issues , yes the DJs where wrong to prank call the hospital only for the fact of jeopardising her job , but the hospital have alot to answer for as they should not have given any info on a patient over the phone ,same on you Lexus for kicking the dj's when they are down

Suicide is far more complicated than most of the people posting here understand. After my brother killed himself, I did much research. It is never ONE situation or incident that pushes someone to take their life. Of course, there is always one last set of cir***stances before someone dies, but it would have been something else. Those who have dealt with this describe it as a train coming down the tracks. You don’t know when it will get here, but you know you can’t stop it (Yes, there was lots of counseling for my brother). The DJs could have predicted someone might get fired or embarrassed, and for that they should be punished, but suicide – I can’t pin that on them.

You have the wrong guy in that photo, he resigned/left the show last friday the 30th. From an Aussie that does listen to that/this show, it would never of happened if he was still there.
