CT Shooter Adam Lanza

Learned How to Fire Guns

... From His Mom

12/16/2012 12:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

1216_adam_lanza_mom_abcMass murderer Adam Lanza learned everything he knew about firearms ... from his mother.

Adam's mom, Nancy Lanza -- who was Adam's first victim -- was an avid gun collector who reportedly bragged to friends and neighbors about her weapons and took her son to several firing ranges to teach him how to shoot ... in the months leading up to his deadly assault.

One of Nancy's neighbors, Dan Holmes, told the NY Post ... Nancy was a gun enthusiast ... an avid collector ... often taking her kids to the gun range, infusing them with her obsession with firearms.

Adam used several different guns when he opened fire on Sandy Hook Elementary school earlier this week ... all of which were registered to his mother.

So? What the hell does that have to do with anything? The kid was ****ed up. Period. It was HIS fault. Period. Why don't you stop putting up stories like this. Here's a good POV on the whole thing. I suggest you read it. ....https://twitter.com/HaydenCairns/status/280139564713115649/photo/1

Is this a joke, TMZ? Using words such as 'obsession' to try to point fingers at his MOTHER? Just because she liked to collect guns and take her son to shooting ranges does not mean she was a bad mother. To blame her parenting is absurd. I know plenty of parents who have never touched drugs in their life and their children are off trying different drugs. It is NOT THE PARENT'S FAULT. As an aspiring psychologist, the world we live in now glorifies violence. Video games, war, TV shows, movies - they all glorify violence. There have been more shooting massacres NOW than 20 or 30 years ago. People PLEASE stop trying to find answers.

If we are going to discuss "gun control" why hasn't anyone made mention of the fact that the guns should have been controlled, ...and under LOCK AND KEY - in a friggin' gun cabinet...with the key on her ring???! Sure the kid coulda' used a chainsaw to get them out, but let's be real, she PROBABLY did not have those guns secured. Idiotic!

It's time to reevaluate gun laws. We have the right to bear arms but in my opinion the constitution is a bit outdated. Our society has changed and evolved as well as our technology. When the constitution was written they could not foresee the kind of weaponry that was yet to be created. I see no reason why we need semi-automatic weapons. What other purpose do those kind of guns serve other than killing people.

whatever

It all comes down to accessibility. The guy was probably bullied as a kid, especially if he had some type of mental handicap. Who hasn't seen kids make fun of the disabled or "dorky" looking kid. The fact that his mom had the weapons only made it easier for the guy to express whatever rage he had against society. His mom enabled him by teaching to "defend" himself by learning how to use a firearm. People who "feel" that society has wronged them will find a way to "seek revenge." if the guns were not accessible; he would have found a way to cause harm. It all comes down to awareness. If someone had noticed that this guy was an alienated individual as a kid and had reached out to him. He could have gotten the help he needed. The reality of it all is that we can only speculate and try to find blame because there will never be an acceptable reason for his actions.

Ok, looking at that photo you can TELL that kid has mad problems. How could no one notice?!?!?! And not do anything about it? Are you effing kidding me? I'm sorry but eff you lady for thinking your son didn't need serious help. Look at what he's done. I know it's wrong of me to blame, but how can I not.
