Ke$ha

Bragged About Writing 'Die Young' Lyrics Before Massacre

12/19/2012 11:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Ke$ha is either lying now ... or was lying then ... 'cause weeks before she said she was "forced" to sing the lyrics to "Die Young," she BRAGGED about penning the song during a radio interview.

The singer appeared on 95.5 WPLJ in New York back in November -- weeks before the Newtown massacre -- and took full credit for writing the song, saying:

"I definitely make sure that every word rings true to me because I would never want to misrepresent myself to millions of people around the world ... I wrote and rewrote and rewrote that song ten times."

Shocking, considering Ke$ha completely contradicted herself on Twitter yesterday after several radio stations around the country stopped playing the song in light of the Newtown tragedy. Ke$ha had written, "I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO."

The lyrics to "Die Young" include the line:  "Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young.  We're gonna die young.  We're gonna die young."

So, what's the truth? We reached out to Ke$ha -- but haven't heard back.

As for her tweets regarding "Die Young" -- those have since been deleted.

It's the same old stuff repackaged. Blue Oyster Cult had the same problem with Don't Fear the Reaper (fabulous song, btw). There is nothing in the Keisha lyrics that even touch on taking a gun and shooting people up. She has become some other emotionally desperate people's scapegoat. As a matter of fact, I am disappointed in her for not sticking up for herself and owning her song. She is yielding to the sensational hype and delirious aftershock waves of the Sandy Brook shooting. Guess what? Children are slaughtered all over the world every day in Africa and the Middle East. It is just such a common occurrence, the media no longer covers it. To hit a little closer to home, kids are shot and killed in Chicago on a regular basis. Again, it is covered very little. It just doesn't get hardly any coverage because it is only one or two at a time, instead of the "sensational" 20 at a time in upper class Connecticut. Wake up people and stop paying so much attention to these isolated "sensational" occurrences, and start looking at the big picture and accumulative big numbers of gun violence, which are far greater than these public shooting here and there.

Kesha wrote about how unfortunate it is that people die too young...she did not in any way mean young like elementary school kid young, get real people. The radio stations pulling the song, the media attention to the song, and TMZ writing about it is only gonna help her sell records and ppl who otherwise never listen to Kesha are gonna take a listen. I see no problem with her lyrics. Its true, many people die too young. Drug over doses, illness, cancer, diseases, car accidents, freak accidents. She did not intend to imply on elementary age school kids being gunned down by a mentally ill individual. Lets stop taking the Newtown tragedy and censoring stuff. Lets start focusing more on mentally ill ppl and those who are unstable, who show signs that they are twisted. The people who commit these crimes all fit the same profile. Young males age 20-40 who come from broken homes, depression, were bullied, abused physically mentally or sexually. Lets start getting help for these people who isolate themselves, dress in all black and who pose a threat to others. Thats the real problem here because every single person who has committed massacres or school/theater shootings all exhibited signs beforehand that everyone ignored.

Better call NeYo's people and see what he meant by his lyrics in Give Me Everything. He says, "For all we know we might not get tomorrow, Let's do it tonight

That song "Pumped Up Kicks" should be removed from the airways, shelves, itunes. I dont agree on censorship and I fight for freedom of speech but those lyrics are absolutely inappropriate and twisted. What would possess someone to write words like "run kids run from the bullets of my gun"...THATS INAPPROPRIATE and insensitive, not Kesha saying "lets enjoy life and make the most of it, enjoy the night like we're gonna die young"...its thr same as Usher singing "lets do it tonight cause we might not get tomkrrkw

Why should anyone be surprised? This overly produced, fabricated piece of trash is a poser from day 1 and now that its blown up in her face, she tucks her tail and makes excuses.

She's saving her face in spite of the pop hit getting pulled due to the events that occured. It's all coincidence and she should treat it as such.
