MJ Estate

Coughed Up $55,000

To Pay Off 'Thriller' Chick

$55,000 ... that's how much it took for the chick from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video to call a truce in her war with the MJ estate ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... Ola Ray settled her lawsuit with the estate earlier this year, and now we know what for ... $55,000 to Ola ... and $20,000 to her lawyer.

Ola originally filed the suit against MJ and his production company in May 2009 -- a month before Jackson passed away -- claiming breach of contract. Ola said she was still owed a massive chunk of the "Thriller" profits ... nearly 30 years after it was released.

The director of the music video John Landis -- who filed a similar lawsuit against the estate -- has also settled ... but he wanted in excess of $2 million, so we're guessing he got a little more than Ola.

I'm glad she finally got something. She should not have had to wait that long.

How is this possible?
I stil don"t understand how the law works in the USA.
Is this accusation not too old to prosecute?
You get paid for your part, too act in a short film and thats it. Only when you made agreements to get paid for the film every time they play it, its a different agreement. So either Michael was to kind a choose for the last possibility, its a different story. 20 years later, how is it possible that a judge tell the lawyers ÿou are right"you are a little bit late but hmm you are entilted too get your money.
But everything is possible when your name is Michael Jackson, after almost 4 years the golddiggers still charge him.
When i read these articles it makes me angry, and this law-suit is just the top of the iceberg. There are (and have been) so many lawsuits, that i can only think off, poor Michael he had suffer so much during his lifetime, and even now after his dead.
Shame shame shame!

MJ Typical 1%, exactly how they operate, they think they shouldn't have to pay or that the 'money owed' is no big deal and they can pay it when ever they want.

I imagine she was paid when the video came out. They just put things this way on TMZ to make Michael Jackson look bad by insinuating he never paid any of his bills or anything like that.
