Lance Armstrong

Reportedly Ready to Come Clean to Oprah

1/12/2013 5:05 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0112-lance-armstrong-oprah-tmzLance Armstrong is gearing up to admit that he was doping throughout his illustrious cycling career ... and he will make the admission to Oprah Winfrey this week ... so says a new report.

Armstrong will not go into great detail, says USA Today, but will make the admission during an interview that tapes Monday and airs on Thursday.

The seven-time Tour de France winner has adamantly denied any wrongdoing for years, often attacking anyone who accused him.

Armstrong was banned for life and stripped of all his Tour de France victories last year.

It's very disappointing if he really was doping and therefore cheating. That being said, his charity Livestrong has done a lot of good! I can't understand why he would want to "come clean" on Oprah and not some ESPN type show. Maybe it comes down to how much she pays him...?

I was one of the people who wanted to see all of the facts before I believed he doped. This will do it. If he is admits to cheating, then he should not be permitted to race in ANY form ever again. If he is attempting to make a deal with the USADA, he should be shut down.

As far as the charity...it is a separate entity and helps millions of people. That I will continue to support.

The fact that he is even "considering" admitting it says that he DID! You don't "consider" admitting something if you didn't do it, we all know he did anyway, what a jack azz! And no one cares about NOprah.

This guy is an arrogant jerk who cheated the whole way. Oprah will kiss his butt and talk about his cancer foundation instead of the issue at hand, and by the end of the interview he'll be royalty- just like her.

Is this scammer ready to come clean about how he could have made 125 million if he didn't cheat? He is living large all because of his dopping, why is that ok?

It's about time. To attack ANYONE who accused him was so wrong and he knew it. I always wondered how he could maintain victory after victory even through his cancer battle and with his aging. Well, no one will be watching because now we know. I don't care to see that lying bastard again.

He'll, no doubt, lean heavily on his charity work as a free-pass for not honestly earning everything he has. Fact is; without drugs he's probably a nobody. Sure he did a tremendous amount of charity work, but I'm also sure he's doing quite well financially thanks to being a cheating douche-bag. If he really wants to make amends maybe he should give away all his accrued wealth that he didn't earn (and stole from someone that was competing fairly and should have won) and give it all to charity? ....Not a chance.
