'Django' Slave Toys

DISCONTINUED

1/18/2013 8:25 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0118_django_toys_01
The controversial “Django Unchained” action figures have officially been DISCONTINUED ... after several African American groups called for a boycott of the dolls ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the toy production tell us ... shortly after advocacy groups like Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and Project Islamic Hope spoke out against the figurines ... the Weinstein Company (which produced the film) reached out to the toy company and told them to put the kibosh on the toy line ASAP.

We're told the toy company agreed, insisting they never intended to offend anyone ... and halted production immediately.

Sources tell us ... the toymakers only released somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000 dolls before shutting down production.

We reached out to the Weinstein Company for comment, so far no word back. But earlier this week we got Christoph Waltz out in Hollywood and it sounds like the 'Django' cast has already learned the fate of the action figures.

Congrats black people on another meaningless moral victory. In other news, tmz reports that a 21 year old black male has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 19 year old, also a black male...

These are intended for collectors. If their were no black dolls Al Sharpton wouldn't give a ****.

It's funny Spike complains publically, and it goes on to be Quentin's biggest film to boot, and then just recently Spike is spotted dining with Sharpton and cronies, and the toys are discontinued by a boycott from Sharpton's group, and guess how much the toys are going for on ebay NOW. From his recent motives, I think Spike secretly is in manlove with Quentin.

I bought these because I collect figures. I have kill bill ones as well as well as pulp fiction figures. I am not a racist, loved the movie. Whoever says their racist must not have seen the movie. Jamie Foxx is awesome in the movie, and the figures are just of the characters, there are no whips or nooses.

Not understanding why a doll that represents the likeness of a film character is racist.
They are no exaggerated or racist features on the dolls as associated with old southern redneck toys.
Spike is on a tirade against anyone who is still making films since he obviously hasn't since Do the Right Thing

Al Sharpton is a POS racist anyways. Guy has zero credibility anymore. Black folks need to chill out. You all clown on us white folks in comedy shows yet can't take a joke. Too sensitive. Stop acting like slavery affected you bc it's been 150 freakin years. Get over yourselves.
