'Justified' Stuntwoman Sues

Show Wrecked My Body

... and My Marriage

2/1/2013 4:53 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

A stuntwoman who was severely injured during an accident on the set of "Justified" is suing producers ... claiming they are responsible for her broken bones ... and her broken marriage.

TMZ has obtained a lawsuit filed by Lisa Hoyle -- who claims that during a stunt for the show in 2011, a vehicle on the set smashed into a parked car ... which ran over her ankle and sent her crashing into the ground.

Lisa claims she lost consciousness and suffered an open head fracture, soft-tissue injuries, bruising and lacerations.

In her suit, Lisa claims she was never informed the parked car was part of the stunt ... because the stunt coordinator held a meeting about the stunt while she was out getting a snack.

And if the injuries weren't bad enough, Lisa and her husband claim their "marital relations" deteriorated because of the accident ... and they separated as a result.

Both Lisa and her husband are seeking unspecified damages. So far, no comment from the "Justified" people.

Isn't the stunt person responsible for checking out and approving the safety of the stunt? Sue yourself, because you suck at your job

I thought this was what stunt people did for a living That's a dangerous job she is doing pay attention be alert .Be aware of changes from the director and stunt coordinator .she wasn't ready for her scene she missed a meeting .First thought that came to me she wasn't concern she wanted a snack .I would think it was her fault

You are supposed to stick buy your partner no matter what. If she split up over that, the marriage wasn't going to last anyway.

If they are explaining the stunt, why are you out getting a snack, sorry girl nobody is going to pay for your stupidity.

It will probably come down to the specifics around the safety meeting. It is customary to call everyone to the set for these meetings, and especially if you're part of the stunt. Getting a snack is not a good excuse, and frankly, doesn't sound very credible.

Don't stunt people have insurance for this kind of thing?

If she had a vaginal mesh mishap, I could understand her sueing because of the strain on her marriage and sex life. She only broke her ankle, I do not get the correlation!

I just found this on google it was in a forum and her friend wrote this

Lisa is a stunt women here in LA. This morning at about 1:30AM she was struck by a vehicle doing a non-stunt activity on the set, I believe (but I don't know for sure) the vehicle was being driven by an "Extra" resetting for a scene on a TV show (not one of my shows). She sustained massive brain trama and is in ICU in critical condition.

That's a shame that someone put a gun to her head and forced her to do such a dangerous job.

It's common for both to sue. I was on a jury where a women was bitten by a dog on her arm while on someone else's property. She and her hubby said it had a negative impact on their sex life and marriage, physically and mentally. We the jury didn't buy it.

Probably should get more details before you judge. She did not just break her ankle. Open skull fracture in the hospital for over 3 months. Had to learn how to walk again. Doctors didn't expect her to live the first night. Traumatic brain injuries can cause a lifetime of side effects. She missed the stunt meeting cause she wasn't informed of it. They went behind her back and changed things.
