breaking news

0209-jon-bon-jovi-gettyBon Jovi has postponed their concert scheduled for tonight in Connecticut due to the snow storm that crippled the northeast.

The governor of Connecticut declared a state of emergency and issued a mandatory statewide travel ban for Connecticut, which contributed to the cancellation.

The concert, which was to go down at the Mohegan Sun Arena, has been rescheduled for October 25. A rep for the band says all tickets for tonight's show will be honored then.

Tonight's show was to be the first of their tour.

well with the governor issuing a state of emergency, there was no decision really to be made. when a state of emergency is called, no one other than emergency personnel are allowed on the roads... so no brainer.. duh!

Can't even read the headline because of an ad. You guys are overdoing it with the ads - becoming real sellouts.

The band performed a free concert tonight for the fans who were already at the venue. They played a full set for about 2,000 people. Pretty awesome of them.

Leave it to TMZ to give you half a story. Although the scheduled concert was canceled because a State of Emergency was declared, Bon Jovi just finished playing a FREE concert for the fans who braved the snow and made it to the venue...many of them, die hard fans who flew in two days ago. It is known in Jovi circles that Bon Jovi are never late nor do they ever cancel. These fans changed their travel arrangements to arrive before the storm because they knew THE BAND would never cancel on them without being forced to. There were approximately 2000 people in attendance and in addition to this concert, these same attendees will be allowed to use their tickets on the rescheduled date of October 25th or return them for a full refund. So, to anyone who questions why this band is still touring and still has fans, there it is in a nutshell!

With the storm warnings many fans travelled in a day early and arrived at the casino Friday before the roads were closed..at least a couple of thousand of them.

To finish the story...the show did go on tonight..three hours earlier that planned and everyone in the casino/hotel were admitted FREE!! Those who were there will still have their tickets honoured for the rescheduled concert in October.

CT's such a great state, man, so many great people in that area of the state -

And Bon Jovi, they don't phone it in - when they do a concert they bring their A Game to the 17th degree... then 15 encores - love those guys.

Like to see Bon Jovi write a song, a smash aboutt this HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT - something like:

"See You Next Week" encouraging die-hard CT fans to hang on, just hang on.

East Coast has been through so MUCH this year - never used to be like this back in 20's.

Had some bad weather around The Civil War - then things cooled off.
