We Didn't Cause the Crash!

EXCLUSIVE

crash_scene_launch_wmChris Brown's single car accident yesterday afternoon left his car totaled and the wall he hit shattered in pieces ... but the paparazzi on the scene are calling BS on Chris' story that it was their fault.

Brown's rep released a statement yesterday claiming he was cut off by two photographers and blamed the accident on "aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi." The photos above show the aftermath of the crash with Chris talking to cops and his car being towed away.

TMZ spoke with Chris Doherty, owner of INF, the photo agency that employed all the photographers on scene. He tells us that he is positive his photogs "had nothing to do with Chris Brown crashing."

Doherty says his photogs arrived AFTER Chris crashed, telling TMZ, "No photographers were following him at the time he crashed ... He crashed his car and it’s convenient for him to blame us. He needs to be careful with his defamatory statements."

Doherty also says his photogs were interviewed on scene by police who "appeared to be satisfied" the photogs were not the cause of the accident.

A spokesman for the Beverly Hills PD would not comment on the accident beyond the press release sent out yesterday:

"On February 9, 2013 at approximately 1203pm, entertainer Chris Brown was involved in a solo, non-injury traffic collision in the 600 Block Bedford Drive/Camden Drive alley. Mr. Brown was the driver of the vehicle and collided with a wall. Brown stated that he was being chased by paparazzi causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Brown's Black Porsche was towed from the scene at his request."

A rep for Brown tells TMZ they are considering a lawsuit over the crash.
