Chris Dorner

$1 Million Reward ...

Big Loophole

2/13/2013 10:25 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Several private citizens were instrumental in cornering cop killer Christopher Dorner ... but there may be a gigantic loophole preventing any of them from collecting the loot.

There are 3 rewards.  The Mayor of L.A. announced a $1 million reward -- funded by private groups -- for information leading to the "capture and conviction" of Dorner.  Big problem -- technically speaking, Dorner must be both captured AND convicted to trigger the reward.

The L.A. City Council offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to "the identification, apprehension, and conviction" of Dorner.  Again ... no conviction.   City Council sources tell us there's already a disagreement between the Legislative Analyst and the City Attorney over how to interpret the reward language.

And finally ... the L.A. County Board of Supervisors offered a $100,000 reward for information "leading to the capture of Christopher Dorner."  One source at the Board of Supervisors tells TMZ,  "Dorner was cornered but not captured."

Translation ... technically speaking, no one may be entitled to the reward.  It's unclear if the Mayor, the City Council and the Board of Supervisors will bend the rules.

Common Sense

Everyone should have known there wasn't EVER going to be a 'capture'. They were going to kill him or he was going to kill himself.
And WHY do you think they set fire to the cabin?
Thank god it's not my cabin. I'd be suing their a$$ off for the reward money just to compensate me for the loss of property as I'm sure they didn't ask the property owner if the could beforehand.

What was the outcome of his reopened case?

The LAPD had no intentions of him coming out alive takes a real rocket scientist to figure that out.

Wow. How incredibly douchey of them. How in the hell are the people that gave them tips that let cops to the guy in anyway responsible for making sure he lives through the capture.
I hope people in Southern California think twice next time before trying to help these idiots do their job.
I'm sure they're trying to save as much money as they can because they know they're going to be paying MILLIONS to the two ladies they shot because their officers were trigger happy and too dumb to positively ID the suspect before just opening fire on them. What a f***ing corrupt system they have there.

The money should go to the families who list lived ones, not to the people who did what good citizens should do.

Virtual Insanity

If they close the case, isn't that an understood conviction of guilt by the deceased? Its either an open or a closed case. If the case is closed, the money should go to the tipsters.

Until the masses wake up - they will continue to be governed by deception.

a short haired girl

As if he was ever going to be captured alive. The shot trucks should have been proof of that.

Oh they better not try that or next time there will be NO tips.

Anyone suffering injuries or property damages needs to sue the appropriate organization (LAPD, LA Sheriff et al), for all they can to cover all legal fees and their property losses, pain and suffering and other causes like "...MALICE".

The 71-year old Hispanic woman shot 2 times in the back by the LAPD and injuries to her 47-year old daughter were illegally shot and wounded including destruction of their vehicle. NO ONE SEEMED TO PAY ATTENTION IN THOSE LAPD Officers opening fire without knowing FOR FACE that the vehicle contained one Chris Dohner.

For shame LAPD you open fire on a 71-year old Hispanic woman and can't tell the difference from a very large Male with husky build and bald head?

The ladies lawyer should start negotiatons with LAPD and Others at $100 Million (each!).

Never help them again! Let this be a lesson to all of you, when snitching! The LAPD only cares about there paycheck, immediate family and nothing else. There a bunch of *****'s. One man made them all shake in there ***** boots.
