'Selena' Actress

Family Pissed About

Oscars 'Memoriam' Snub

The family of "Selena" star Lupe Ontiveros is incredibly upset she was left out of last night's "In Memoriam" presentation at the Oscars ... despite appearing in dozens of major films over the past 30 years.

Ontiveros -- who passed away in July 2012 --  had roles in "Real Women Have Curves", "As Good as it Gets", and "The Goonies" ... but is best known for her role as Yolanda Saldivar, the woman who murdered Selena.

Ontiveros' son Elias tells TMZ ... the whole family gathered to watch the awards show -- and was "disappointed" Lupe wasn't given her proper due -- especially considering some lesser-known people were honored over his mom.

You'll recall, George Clooney did warn some artists might be left out when introducing the tribute, saying, "For for those friends who are on this list tonight, and many others who aren't, we thank you for the memories."

Other celebs snubbed along with Ontiveros -- Andy Griffith, director Gore Vidal, Sherman Hemsley, athlete-turned-actor Alex Karras, and Sylvia Kristel.

How do you miss a wonderful actor like Andy Griffith? O yeah, I forgot. We live in a day and age that if you don't have sex, drugs and killings it is not considered television. SMH.

They need to get over it - CNN has a list of over 100 people that were left off - including Michael Clark Duncan, and he was an Oscar nominee!

It was mostly industry people, writers, who had a sound bite about writing, & they used those clips. I noticed it was mostly obscure people on the list. For FACES IN THE CROWD Andy Griffith should have definitely been on the list. That was classic. I'm surprised they didn't leave Ernest Borgnine off as well. Guess they had to cut it short so Babs could give Marvin his sendoff.

Was it just those actors who passed who were academy award winners? I know they showed the tech deaths as well, so I was under the impression it was only those people who were involved with Academy Award winners. I could be wrong. Then again, someone is always gonna be neglected.

Andy Griffith was small town America, that's why he was snubbed. Hollywood is up Obama's booty and vice versa, they won't honor a man that represents the very thing this dictator is out to destroy now can they. after all they had his wife on it. How lame and desperate can this administration get.
