TV Producers Paying for Shain's Funeral

4/3/2013 12:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The two production companies behind the MTV reality show "Buckwild" have offered to pay for all of Shain Gandee's funeral expenses, TMZ has learned.

Parallel Entertainment CEO J.P. Williams -- who produces the show with Zoo Productions -- tells us, "Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad." He adds, "I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up."

A public service for Shain will be held this Sunday.

As for the donation websites that have been raising money to help pay for the funeral -- we're told that money will now go toward expenses incurred by Shain's family during the recovery effort.

We're told any remaining money will go towards the funeral of the other two men that were killed, including Shain's uncle.

As we reported, 21-year-old Shain was found dead yesterday morning inside his truck, which had stalled out submerged in mud while off-roading. Shain and the two other men died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Why is everyone thanking MTV? They are not the ones paying. Did I read a differant story than everyone else? I'm wondering what expenses his family incurred in such a short period of time. They didn't rescue they truck did they. Go ahead and pay for the other funerals. I'm sure they received more than enough.

He was in that mud one much expenses could the family lose over that.......send the donations back......people probably could use that money, but sent it anyway to help pay for a funeral......not family expenses.........

What's really pathetic is that everyone who grows up in any area where you have bad weather, flooding, asnow, etc knows that if you ever get stuck in your vehicle you need to always check the tailpipe and make sure it is NEVER blocked ( the same holds true for the exhaust pipe from a furnace in your house as well) as carbon monoxide is a colorless, odor less, gas that easily can cause sleepinness, which leads to unconsciousness and then death. If they we fans of off-roading in muddy or remorte areas someone should have know about these issues. This is ust sad because all they had to do was get out of the vehilce and they would be alive today.... RIP

We had a similar experience years ago, we got a bronco stuck and half buried on the mud we could hear the muffler bubbling I'm the muddy water, we **** the truck off and got out and walked. This is such a tragic accident, and glad the family is getting help with the funeral expenses but don't understand the comments that its the least the producers can do, they didn't cause this.........hope a spectacle isn't made out of the services. Prayers to the families

A kid is dead. He was on a reality show for one season. He was charming and kind from what we saw, and now he is dead. Of course MTV should help him out. Everyone else should STFU and let this family be in peace. His uncle is also dead and a friend. I'm sure the family is devastated. Keep your stupid comments for *******s who deserve it like the Kardashians and Basketball wives.
