Ashley Judd

Religious Beliefs Mocked

By KY Senator's Staff

4/9/2013 10:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Ashley Judd's view of God is a joke ... laughable ... this according to Sen. Mitch McConnell's staff which was caught on tape mocking Judd's views on God during a February strategy session.
The discussion took place during a "Know Your Enemy" meeting ... in which Team McConnell discusses the ammo they'd have against Judd in case she runs for McConnell's seat. McConnell's voice can be heard during parts of the recording.

At one point, someone plays a recording of Judd describing her religious beliefs:

"I still choose the God of my understanding as the God of my childhood. I have to expand my God concept from time to time, and you know particularly I enjoy native faith practices, and have a very nature-based God concept. I'd like to think I'm like St. Francis in that way. Brother Donkey, Sister Bird."

One of McConnell's staffers can be heard laughing ... saying, "Brother Donkey, Sister Bird!"

Another staffer laughs and says, "The people at Southeast Christian [Church] would take to the streets with pitchforks."

During the session, the McConnell team also discusses Judd's mental health history.

One staffer tells Mitch -- "She's clearly ... this sounds extreme ... but she is emotionally unbalanced."

"I mean -- it's been documented,” the aide says. The campaign “can go in chapter and verse from her autobiography about, you know, she's suffered some suicidal tendencies. She was hospitalized for 42 days when she had a mental breakdown in the 90s."

Judd is also described as "anti-sort-of-traditional American family."

It's clear from the audio tape, McConnell's team doesn't feel threatened at all by Judd -- in fact, it sounds like they viewed her potential political run as a joke.

The audio was posted by lefty mag Mother Jones ... which also released the infamous “47%” video that torpedoed Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

But the GOP strategy plot was all for naught -- Judd recently announced she would NOT be running for office after all.

As for Team McConnell -- his campaign team isn’t happy the audio leaked out -- and is asking the feds to investigate. Said campaign manager Jesse Benton: "Watergate-style tactics to bug campaign headquarters are above and beyond.”

Perhaps you need to be reminded of what Mitch McConnell did after Obama was elected the first time. McConnell publically asked all Republicans to refuse to co-operate with Obama, since Bush had stacked the Senate, Congress and Supreme Court with Republican politicians. The most vulgar aspect of that conduct, is that McConnell was actually pharting in the face of every American, by sabotaging their voting choice. This man should not be involved in public trust in any way. In fact, he should be in jail for treason against the American people. I guess the reason Americans can't recognize this, is because they are slumped out on their couch after pigging out on genetically-modified fast foods that these politicians have controlled into the culture, so that your brains won't work actively to realize that they are stealing half of your lifetime earnings, which is your contribution to the tax base.

Typical GOP dick head. They won't be around much longer, they're party gets smaller and smaller every year due to they're retarded policies.

Mitch is already owned by the big corporations, as are most of our "representatives". Worthless old man.

Judd's pretty public about her emotional difficulties , her mental health issues in the 90's , writing her book , for McConnell to have had his office so called illegally bugged ( watergate type style FBI Investigating it) he sounds pretty s***my to use this taping as a weapon against her though. She's not even going to run against him for senate . Politics religion not a good mix., But McConnell very unprofessional.

McConnell should be investigated. This ugly man (he looks like the Connecticut shooter Adam Lanza) should be kicked out of government. He is a mean spirited, bug-eyed, woman hating racist. Very hard on the eyes and each time we see his ugly, greasy, made-up face on TV we burst out laughing. Kentucky deserves better.

I am disappointed in what the environment of Congress does to the staffers. The First Amendment and the first right of The People in it is Religious Freedom and the Free Exercise thereof. Those staffers collectively or individually need a whooping.

As for Ashley Judd thinking of Saint Francis of Assisi, I find that somewhat coincidental.

Pope Francis chose the name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. This 2013 Pope Francis is a simple man and refused the Vatican Residential Quarters usually occupied by a Pope. Instead he chose a small apartment way in the back of the Vatican as he does his own stuff like cooking, cleaning, etc. and even pays his own bills.

Whatever Ashley Judd believes is her solemn Right to Practice Feely without Nimrods in Congress talking the way they did. We all know Ashley Judd has previously announced she won't run for Senator, but that too is her right.

I do agree that someone had to tape the meeting held as Closed Door and it rings of Watergate tactics.

The only comparison I can make is a possible motive of President Richard Nixon (although I don't think he ordered the actual Watergate break-in) as political and is not to be ruled out as quite similar to one Barack Hussein Obama II, the First British President in US History as well as the First Black President.

I am Republican and although I do support Senator Mitch McConnell, a Senator Ashley Judd is far more attractive that he is. SHE'S HOT!

The chick is nuts and has been for a long time. Just trying to cash in on her celebrity. We need people that can really help, that don't have half their brain cells already fried.

Mitch McConnell makes me physically ill. Perhaps it's time to retire, SIR.

Judd may not be the greatest choice in a candidate, but it is past time for McConnell to be replaced.

Whether its stupid or not is nobody's business. Its her opinion and she is entitled to it just like you people are entitled to yours stupid or not. So STFU and get off her case!!!

Like Rush predicted, the low information voter (here) cares what the evil Republicans said, not that there was an illegal taping,

Ask Mitt Romney how well that nut job religious stuff works out.

I guess TMZ has no problem with the fact that THE DEMOCRATS got that info by bugging the meeting, just like WATERGATE.
