Rick Ross

Reebok Gives Rapper

The Boot

4/11/2013 1:04 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Rick Ross
just learned a hard lesson about rape and money ... you embrace one, you lose the other ... because he was just DUMPED by Reebok.

As TMZ previously reported ... Ross has taken a ton of heat for his song, U.O.E.N.O ... in which he happily sings, "Put Molly [Ecstasy] all in the champagne.  She ain't even know it.  I took her home and I enjoy that.  She ain't even know it."  Translation -- date rape.

Reebok tells TMZ ... "Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand.  Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so."

Reebok goes on:  "While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse."

Let's be honest had there been no backlash Ross would still be with Reebok. Reebok is not responding to what Ross rapped about; they are responding to the potential of losing money because of what he rapped about. Now I don't like what he said, but then I don't like most of what rappers talk about when it comes to women.

I'm generally the first person to hate on Richard Ross for his bs lyrics, but Molly is ecstasy, it's not a date rape drug... and while it's wrong to slip anything into her drink, he wasn't talking about date raping her. Pretty sure that you can still tell whether or not you're being raped when you're on E, you can even have a more heightened sense of self-awareness... stop blowing sh#t out of proportion.

Reebok knew who they got in bed with......This dude has rapped about killing people, selling drugs, pimping and degrading women for the last 7 years...and all of a sudden Reebok has morals....they were making money and they were happy.....someone just called them out on it.
Rick Ross does not care, that's the kind of music that made him don't like it....don't support it or give him a million dollar they may have dropped him...but they still had to pay him......dummies (reebok)

unfortunately, had he given a real apology, he would probably still have his deal with Reebok.

I thought Molly would keep one awake and horny? If you take Molly, do not plan on sleeping do a good 24 hours. If you are a sexual predator, do not give your target Molly. Te target will not fall asleep ever lol. The target may become arroused and you might have consensual sex in the end lol. Jk sexual predators can all rot

About damn time. Reebok thinks it needs all these people to promote but they can turn into liabilities in a heartbeat. No future in keeping a loser like this on-board.

Rick Ross is a horrible role model with way more money than he deserves. Reebok dumping him is a good job done by them but in the end will have little effect on his finances or his ego for that matter

Iam very CONFUSE by REEBOK action on this , I can understand if he was an ATHLETE , But he is a RAPPER, They rap about CRAZY stuff which can fall under fact or fiction, They are no different from a writer/actor who could easily have done a date-rape movie , Would REEBOK then drop that ACTOR . They hire a rapper!! they tend to rap about anything from sex to VIOLENCE.I can assure you they are NOT dropping him if it was about who are the hypocrites
