Yellow Power Ranger

'Reunion' Show Offer

Was Insulting & Lame

5/19/2013 1:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reunion was BOTCHED … producers offered insulting money for a lame cameo and were impersonal JERKS about the whole thing … so says Karan Ashley, the 2nd yellow ranger -- who’s also declining to attend.

Ashley ranted for 45 minutes Thursday on the audio blog Uncensored Radio about how poorly the 20-year reunion effort was handled. Her chief beef ... participating would burn 5 days from her schedule ... but she claims producers only offered to pay for 2.

“I’m not trying to help someone make another billion dollars,” she says, “and you’re not even going to pay me for my time? It’s disrespectful. It’s just wrong.”

As TMZ previously reported … original Blue Power Ranger David Yost says he declined because producers harassed him for being gay … and original Black Power Ranger Walter Jones followed suit in support of his friend.

Ashley says a couple of those producers are still there ... and their outreach was pathetic. Instead of inviting all 10 ranger actors personally, she says, producers sent a typo-infested mass email -- offering nothing more than a cameo -- then didn’t respond for WEEKS to those who expressed interest.

What’s WORSE … Ashley says producers later UNINVITED certain cast members who were excited to take part, citing “budgetary reasons.”

We reached out to the Power Rangers people -- so far, no word back.

The 2nd Red Ranger, who played Rocky, had also said the same thing she is saying a few weeks ago. Someone asked him on his facebook if he was going to do it, and he said the pay was too little and he was just going to be a background character/ extra. He basically said it was too little money to leave his successful business.

Again TMZ has no idea what they are talking about. It's a Power Rangers reunion. Not a MMPR reunion. They contacted over 60 former rangers to see if they were interested and picked 10 of them for Megaforce. That's the story. Get it straight TMZ.

Wow this feels slightly wrong on so many levels, granted I know they have a budget to follow but if Saban had indeed simply picked those ten people who were accepted it would have been so much better and not simply uninvited people. Some of the cast may have had bad blood with the producers and such and not wanted to come back but some of the ones who did would have been very excited and then gotten "thanks but no thanks". That's a bold face slap on the cheek to most cast members and their fans. Quite a lot of the cast have their own individual fans and this would crush them especially.

So far DAVID YOST, Walter Jones, & now Karan Ashley are not going to The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Reunion.(Power Rangers: Mega Force)
Let's hope that the other Rangers such as Austin St. John, Amy Jo Johnson, Jason David Frank, Johnny Young, Bosch & Nakia Burrise are going to The Mighty Morhin Power Rangers Reunion(Power Rangers: Mega Force).
I would decline the producers to if they didn't pay enough money to join The Power Rangers: Mega Force.
Karan Ashley (as) Aisha Campbell is doing the right thing of not joining The Reunion Of The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Power Rangers: Mega Force.
If the other Rangers don't come for The 20th Anniversary Reunion Of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Power Rangers: Mega Force) then it would be no sense for The Power Rangers Reunion and no Power Rangers: Mega Force
