Chad Johnson
was just kicked out of a Florida courtroom ... after the former NFL star playfully slapped his male lawyer's ass -- a move that ENRAGED the judge, TMZ has learned.

Johnson was in court in Broward County, FL to face the judge for his recent probation violation in his domestic violence case.

During the hearing, the judge and Chad's lawyer were about to finalize the terms of Chad's punishment -- terms that were pretty favorable to Chad.

But the whole thing fell apart at the last minute, when the judge asked Chad if he was satisfied with his attorney -- and the ex-NFL star reached back and playfully slapped his lawyer's ass.

Chad smiled ... the court erupted with laughter .... but the judge wasn't amused.

In fact, the judge found the move disrespectful -- and lashed out at Johnson ... asking him if the whole proceeding was a "joke" to him.

Johnson replied, "I had no intent to make this a joke, because my life is in shambles right now."

The judge -- who lost her patience -- suddenly announced that Chad's deal was OFF ... and kicked him out of the courtroom.

Story developing ...

Im not a fan of Chad, but the judge needs to chill out. A pat on the butt means "Good Job" in sports. He meant no disrespect and he also can't control the crowds reaction. She's a **** and I feel bad for her husband.

Gee, before I actually saw the video I assumed it was some theatrical *ss smacking and booty tooting or something over the top. This was a simple pat on the rump - football for "good job". I think she definitely over reacted.

Kinda lame, tells him he should thank his lawyer, as a foot ball player would he smacks his ass as a thank you. He isn't responsible for the actions of the people in the courtroom and a judge who makes judgements on emotion shouldn't be in that seat. I don't even like Chad Johnson or football but that just seemed excessive.

The judge was completely out of line in this case. She should have taken notice that Chad is a professional athlete. In football especially, it is common culture to pat be-hinds as a congratulatory way of saying "good job" which he was clearly doing as he attempted to back the judges praising of his lawyer for doing a good job. Now tax payers get stuck flipping a 30 day jail sentencing for a man who does not deserve to be there for this particular offense. If the courtroom laughed, put the courtroom in jail. Chad never even turned around or attempted to address the courtroom. Outlandishly irresponsible of the judge in this case. She should put the American taxpayer first in this case and her desire to stroke her own ego second. But what does the judge care, she isn't paying the jail bill, we are.

Whatever, this cracks me up. Domestic violence offenders get off too easy, I'm glad this smug woman beater got that smile wiped off his face. Awesome judge.

When you go before a judge you need to show respect and make sure you do not do anything stupid...what he did he gave no thought that it would be showing disrespect but in a courtroom you must be careful how you act and speak OR your ass is going to jail. Maybe he learned something, but I doubt it.
