Lil Wayne

American Flag

6/17/2013 3:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lil Wayne
trampled the American flag over the weekend ... and there's footage.

Weezy performed the stunt while shooting his new music video for "God Bless Amerika" in New Orleans.

During the shoot, Wayne begins rapping in front of a giant American flag ... which is released to the ground. After it's on the floor, Wayne continues to rap ... while stepping all over the stars and stripes.

The lyrics to Wayne's song are just as controversial ... "My country 'tis of thee / Sweet land of kill 'em all and let 'em die / God bless Amerika / This ole' godless Amerika."

So we gotta ask ...

Well, America doesn't deserve too much respect. Killint their own presidentes, Invading countries, spying.... it's full of egomaniacs with no respect.
Clean your ****, know your history.

Not surprised. Never had to do a day's honest work in his life, never EARNED anything. Never learned to respect anything. Why would he appreciate something he has took for granted??
He needs a visit from Toby Keith.

Listen, if you cannot protest without trampling the flag (our colors, even yours if you're a citizen) then you need to go back to school so you can learn how to PROPERLY communicate. Did you even get through school? Being disrespectful and traitorous to our flag is NOT freedom of speech. It is freedom of disrespect, freedom of disloyalty, and freedom of chickens**t cowardice. Never expect a penny from me for anything you do in the future. I do not reward anyone for dissing my country, my flag. You don't want it, you don't like it, go East young far as you can go. Maybe the mid-East where people just like you feel the same way you do about America. Bet you could blend in really well there.

...poor taste, poor judgement, disrespectful and rude ...really a shame. But some people don't know
any better...others would not accept that as an excuse... it doesn't excuse it, it explains it...sad..

While I understand why so many people are upset, I think we need to look at this young man's actions in a different light. Most of us were raised to respect and honor our country. We were taught that we were the greatest country in the world and we were proud of that. We could be. We had members of our own families who fought in WWI and WWII. In Korea and Vietnam. Our country really was more United back then. We were stronger. We did not feel the need to let the media broadcast every little nasty secret everyone had. We did not disrespect our President no matter how much we wished someone else had won. We were not allowed to wear our clothes half down our backsides. Neither did we celebrate people who did nothing for the world except look pretty and be dramatic. Celebrities with drug or alcohol problems were not allowed by the studios to go out and advertise it. They were taken QUIETLY AND DISCRETELY to dry out and clean up. They were expected to show some class. Perhaps this young man doesn't know all that but perhaps he should. We were once the most respected and strongest country in the world. Now, is anyone really able to say what we are??

as a vet of armed services i find this in no way "art" but a lack of respect for what it stands for in this great land of ours. maybe we need to break it down so he understands, " Yo ***** if u think amerika sucks then y donta take your skinny muder****n ass and get da **** out" yea let u do dat in another place and dey would be beatn your little skinny ass muda****er"
so lil wayne yes because we have a constitution that allows u freedom of speech u have this freedom. just remember your actions come with either positive or negative conseqences and someday u may need one those men that gave an oath to support and defend the constitution and they will remember that video.
