Serena Williams

Issues BS Statement

After Steubenville Rape Comments

Serena Williams isn't exactly apologizing for the incendiary comments she allegedly made about the Steubenville rape victim ... because she's not entirely sure she said them, at least that's the way it seems from the BS statement she just released.

Williams came under fire this week over an article printed in Rolling Stone ... in which the tennis superstar is quoted as saying, "[the Steubenville rape victim] shouldn’t have put herself in that position" on the night she was raped at a high school party.

But moments ago, Williams issued a statement on her website -- in which she takes NO responsibility for the comments ... and suggests she may not have ever said them at all.

"I am currently reaching out to the girl’s family to let her know that I am deeply sorry for what was written in the Rolling Stone article. What was written – what I supposedly said – is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame."

The statement begs the obvious question -- DID YOU MAKE THE COMMENTS OR NOT??

Imagine if this girl would've followed the rule by not drinking underage at party (she's 16 the law is 21) then she wouldnt have been drunk enough to let someone take advantage of her last i check that was illegal shouldn't she serve time to. Ijs i am no way taking up for them because i have been molested from the time i was 7 to 13 and it really messes with u mentally but who tct their attacker tge next day and inly call the police and report them when he says he dont want you as a girlfriend and ur family finds out.

If these stupid, idiotic morons would take the time to utilize more than one brain cell at a time, they would not sink deeper into the abyss of stupidity. What a jackass.

Of course blame the victim, the American way you people are ****ed up. Lets put the blame where it belongs on the Rapists. I bet you would say different if it were your daughter, sister, mother

What is this BS? It is her opinion, respect it. You don't have to agree with it and if you don't, argue against it. She doesn't owe anyone an apology.

I absolutely believe that these men are vile and are at fault. HOWEVER, it does not take away from the fact that the girl put herself in a dangerous position. The boys still should not have taken advantage of the situation, but my mother raised 4 girls and she said "All you can do is YOUR part. When you go carry yourself with class" LET ME REPEAT for the psycho's that can't make an objective argument. I am not saying that this is the girls fault, BUT she was extremely irresponsible with guarding her body, and that left the door open for s*** like these boys.

I'll Never Tell

This girls being raped is not a result of her being drunk. It is a result of a group of *******s choosing to violate her sexually. Women are raped everyday sober or drunk. I am sure there were other drunk girls at that party who were not violated. It is not about her condition; it is about their decisions and their character. She was at a party. Maybe she chose to drink or maybe she was slipped something by an idiot.

What do you expect from sportspeople, they're not famous for having big brains and most have led really sheltered lives from a young age. On top of all that she's a Mormon :)

I blame the perpetrators but Serena is also right in saying that the victim shouldn't have put herself in that situation. Shes didnt deserve what happened to her but she did make stupid choices that night. Theres bad people in the world and its a shame she had to find out this way.

Serena Williams is a racist. She blames the victim because the girl is white and the abuser is black.

Still...why would you drink 'til you're vomiting and passed out and roll with a group of people you hardly know. There is no parent that I know that would sanction their child doing the same. She cannot turn back time and change the events so why would you put yourself in a position of danger. It could have been worse maybe she could have lost her life. This is not the time or era to be naive and stupid. This is what I take from the statement that Serena supposedly made and it makes sense.
