We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in everyone
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh Lord, why don't we?

I bet the voting will be along racial and geographical lines... so, what purpose does this serve.... Lastly, I do not believe by just using the N-word makes you a racist, maybe makes you a insensitive probably and probably ignorant to the fact that others may see them as a racist; we should remember the definition:

Thesaurus Legend: Synonyms Related Words Antonyms
Noun 1. racist - a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others
bigot - a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own

Ageism is alive and well in America and The Food Network. They couldn't discriminate against a 60 year old woman so they made up this excuse. Fortunately, Paula is rich. Other folks in America lose their jobs at 60 and cannot find work again.

I should have guessed that the bigot pigs at TMZ and their followers would not think that Pig Deen was a train wreck. How the little jew Harvey has managed to turn all the turds that hang around him into little bigot minded trolls is amazing!!!

The same people here who say they never used the Nword are bashing Paula because she is old. How hypocritical.

Sue Food Network, Paula. With all the vulgar garbage we hear on TV and read on the internet lately, a stupid word now and then is no cause to fire someone.

Please... Sticks and Stones people. - Man the term ****** has become so bad. And why? Do some research and really find out where it came from and why its not liked. do some research and find out the differences in slaves. i.e. the Chinese and the Irish. My friends and I call each other ****** all the time. I have lots of black friends.(oh and I am white) They say ****** all the time. It’s a term people. She didn’t kidnap someone for 10 years. And you’re talking about something that happened 30 years ago. A lot of things that we did back then were not illegal 30 years ago. (oops saying the word ****** is not illegal) There is a huge erosion of our rights going on and you don't see it and now your are stepping all over the freedom of speech. When is the witch hunt going to stop? When they come for you? It’s just a word. Its understandable if you don’t like the term and for someone to say it in front of you and you ask them to stop. But people something 30 years ago? And why is she being sued? How much money do they get form this law suit? Once you get rich it always seems you have a bull’s eye on your back. You can't change what you did, but you can make a difference today. I think if you look Pula Deen as donated and volunteered for some really good organizations in the past 10 years. Everyone needs to relax a little bit, stop judging other people and look at your self and see what changes you can make. What a witch hunt the world is turning in to. Conform or be destroyed!!! Is that slogan you want to scream? This is the land of diversity. Sticks and stones people sticks and stones.

Just so that I'm clear, when a white person uses the N-word, they're a racist who should be publicly humiliated and fired from their jobs but when a black person uses the N-word, they're a successful multi-millionaire rapper who's loved by fans worldwide? So it's demeaning & hateful for some who use that word but it's cool and stylish for others? Have I got it right?

Who hasn't used the "N" word???
Oprah should hire her on OWN.

She is a product of the South. Those racist attitudes were inbred in her. It was indeed, a different time. However, after all these years you would think she would have been enlightened to the fact that the use of that word is deplorable, in any context. Food Network over reacted and in the end it will be the public that truly decides her fate. Let's not forget Robert Irvine was forgiven his transgressions after his fans protested his firing.

Just What I Expect You Racist Caucasian Americans Too Say. Justify Her Racism To Make You And Your Racist Family And Friends Feel Less Guilty. Its Disrespectful Too All Minorities And People Of Color. Being Old Doesnt Give You A Pass To Be Ignorant Or Racist. That Like Saying Being Black Gives Someone The Pass To Punch White People For Slavery If Thats The Case Im Sure Black Americans Would Take That Trade Off Any Day

Too bad that Paula Deen possess neither the strength, courage, nor wisdom to transcend the intellectual limitations of those who left their crass marks on her. She chose her path - actively, consciously, as we all do. No need for her to apologize for that. Some find their way, some don't. The latter live their lives thrashing in the face of reality, struggling to find ways to reconcile their thoughts and actions.

Paula should forgive herself, develop her self-respect, find some inner strength, and embrace civility. Whether she does or not, well, that's solely her concern.

Finz Up

How can this word offend anybody anymore when it is sung in majority of rap songs (including bitch, C**t) n used freely by blacks. If you dont want it repeated then STOP using it yourselves. My nieces sing these songs at 9 years old n have no idea it is racist since its so common. No apologies needed Paula

I think you need some context for 'using the n-word'. Do you mean as a swear or as an insult to someone, as part of a discussion about how using the n-word is bad, or as one African-American calling another the n-word, often with an -a at the end.
