Paula Deen

Going to Pot

On QVC

EXCLUSIVE

If you're lookin' for Paula Deen's pots and pans, you better jump fast, because it looks like her shelf-life on QVC is about to expire.

Deen -- who appears on the product-hawking network to pitch her cookware -- may lose her platform over the "n-word" revelations.

A rep for the network says they have "concerns [over] the unfortunate Paula Deen situation."  The rep adds, "Please know that QVC does not tolerate discriminatory behavior."

Now this is the weird part, which makes QVC sound -- how do you say in English -- as spineless as deep-fried octopus.  "We are closely monitoring these events and we are reviewing our business relationship with Ms. Deen.  In the meantime, we have no immediate plans to have her appear on QVC."

Translation -- They're waiting to see which way the wind blows.

So--QVC won't take a stand on the subject until they see what the public wants?

She is being persecuted for a comment she made almost 30 years ago! A lot can happen in 30 years, and people change.

Is this like the pot calling the kettle black or something? Personally I don't really care if she gets her cooking show back...her food sucked anyway.

How about when blacks call white people devil's and blue eyed devil's? That is not offensive? Everyone thought it was so cool when Malcolm X said it. He is from the Nation of Islam. Now look at how black racism and hatred is being used to divide and destroy this country. It is the perfect set up for another Arab Spring. All we need is for Americans to start going wild in the streets rioting and protesting and the Muslim in Chief is going to implement sharia martial law.

People love their black pride more than America. That is a shame. They have every opportunity here and support when they can't support themselves. Instead they want to fight for hatred. They may reap what they sow sooner than they think.

I always was under the impression that Paula was liberal to the point where she offended a lot of her conservative viewers. When she did her show with an audience, it was always racially diverse. She hugged and kissed all of them. Regardless of their race/ethnic background. I always knew/felt that in her past growing up in Georgia, she was exposed to a to lot of bigotry. This revelation doesn't surprise me. But I do feel in my heart that she is sorry.
Senator Robert Bird of WV was a member of the KKK when he entered politics'. He said that was a different time and he is a different man and he was forgiven. I don't believe her racists comments went any further than that. Inappropriate comments. It was a part of the time/culture she grew up in. She didn't ask to be born White or to be raised in Georgia. In an era that embraced this attitude. She to is a victim. An innocent, being born/raised in an atmosphere that taught that this this sort of language was alright/southern life style attitude. Think of all the good this women has tried to do and how she embraces everyone now. She is a good person with a kind heart and I will never watch the FoodNetwork again for firing Paula Deen. How cowardly! Why didn't they come to her defiance and say that this isn't the Paula they've grown to love. They know she's no more guilty of being prejudice than any of the other chef's that are on their network. Shame on you FoodNetwork! Shame!

Dang you people are ignorant. Its the intent that is harmful.

Btw. If she was so honest and should be respected for her honesty why didnt she tell of us her hatred sooner. Before her contract with the food network or before she opened her restaurant. She is just as covert as any other racist. Shes honest now, yeah, after she was caught.

If she was so honest about being a racist, I would have liked to know before I watched her show or bought her cookbook. She is just a covert cowardly racist just like any other.

I think that if blacks stop using the word so lightly others would not use the word so lightly. How can black public figures use the word in music and not be punished? I see it as the same thing and I am black. Paula is from the south and from back when that kind of stuff was accepted. If you do not like what she do do not support her but do not bash her for her how she was raised. A lot of older black people don't like white because of the past when they were younger so do we crash everyone life that has that feeling?

What you don't understand is black people are doing this to her. Who. they run this network. Some probably married to black spouse or have bi racial children. this is rare they fire someone over using this word. Definitely not only black people upset
